Two awesome North East albums from ‘80 and ‘81… New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) was, in some ways, a post-punk offshoot inspired by the mid 70’s DIY ethos… Both these releases came on a major label (MCA) after early releases on Newcastle’s Neat Records… @tygersofpantang.bsky.social

Just to say… As a Coal Mining Geologist who spent close to 30 years in and around the Lancs coalfield, “800 yards down at Ince Six Feet” resonates… Ince 6 Feet being one of the last seams worked at Parkside, which was the last pit in Lancs… as I am sure you know already @warringtonruncorn.com

Liking @michaelhann.bsky.social ‘s liner notes and the new remaster that’s doing justice to an album I’ve always felt was way better than many gave it credit for… ‘80 was a year of change for many (Sabbath, Ozzy etc) and this vibes well with that theme of change… also petrol stations looked cooler…
