I rescue Dobermans-my most recent came from a terrible situation in TX. Starved and cut up. She was terrified of brooms, rakes etc. After a year with me and Kai she became a confident little lady. My in-laws told me I shouldn’t do this for abused dogs bc they are “dangerous” -fuck that. They’re my 🩷
This has happened to me. It is devastating. To remedy predation I buy 5’ tall round metal hvac tubes at hardware store. They are split the long way-you can easily wrap them around a post and snap the split together. I then spray paint it. Critters can’t climb them. Here’s example on my owl box.
Dog spelled backwards is god. I think that’s because after they are gone and we look back and remember them we realize how whole they made us. After they pass they take on a new role of watching over us. I miss my boy Kai every single day.
We are celebrating the defeat of Orban and the humiliation by association of those from this regime that supported him.

Daisy and my Koko seemed to haven taken the same PhD class in bed making.
It’s been 5 months since I said goodbye to Kai. No matter how bad the day he gave me perfect moments. I would actually think in that moment, “this is perfect.” We were so in tune and connected. I love Koko dearly but she is more independent, not as snuggly. I will never stop missing my boy.
Can you imagine being a dog? Living with that level of trust? Trusting a species you can’t even speak to? That you’re completely dependent on? This relationship is astounding to me. I see Koko sleep like this and I know that at least I’ve gotten this one thing right.

We’ve all done it. Notice a mistake on a post and go back to correct it and it does this. But this one prompted a Russian link…?? I have so many questions…

Tried to do something positive today. I built Koko a platform for getting up in the couch—she loves it!
So disheartened. We have been waiting a month to get in for a scan of her left leg and this a.m. Koko injured her right Achilles. She got excited after poopies and did a wild little spin on the leash and “YIP!” Now she is limping on both back legs. The scan is tomo. I feel so bad for my baby.
Was banking snow against the house to combat upcoming cold and stumbled across this under the condensation vent. Further proof that ICE really is a bunch of dicks.
She is! She’s my third rescue doberman I just lost my soul dog this past October-he was pure perfection.
