AC ran all day today. Most of it went to the grid. Summer peak demand is really easy to solve with solar.
Renewables are at 82% while batteries are consuming the equivalent of 3 nuclear power plants.
Took me about 5 years to go fully solar, exporting to the grid, in the summer and I’m just a regular dude. - EV - Solar - Heat Pump
Every suburban home has enough sunshine on the roof to power the AC and export to the grid.
Rivian is up 13.01% Because 13 is bad luck. youtu.be/p_ry-hQaQz0?...
Rivian beats on deliveries. - Expectation = 10,000 - Actual = 13,000+
This seems like a better fix, generating about 5x the power while keeping the car shaded.
Rivian R2 $64,000 4 Runner $79,000 (The Toyota is slower and more expensive to operate, so there is that)
The Boyle Heights fire has been burning for 4 days now. Get ready for lots of “solar bad” pronouncements. Roofs have an exterior fire rating that can be lost when solar is installed on top. This needs to be considered when solar is installed. “Solar bad” makes no more sense than “roof bad”.
The Rivian R2 delivers nearly three times as many miles per dollar (mi/$) as its gas-powered competitors. Using a utility rate of $0.28 per kWh for home charging and a gas price of $4.75 per gallon: R2: 12.3 mi/$ & 656 hp 4Runner Hybrid: 4.8 mi/$ & 326 hp Outback Wilderness: 4.8 mi/$ & 260 hp
Did the minimum for gas drop? I remember it around 1,700 MW for cogen etc.
Taking an EV charging space and not charging is what is known as a dick move. RIVN not-Richard
