Ive seen em used on both levels and I think they are great fun, I just learned with the holbein cmyk set the extra are 5 windsor newton I learned mixing with and a pure white and actual black
Oh ya I kinda had one professor teach us the layering and then pulling off. I think my last water color / gouache one was this one
Finished up this piece for a wonderful and patient supprter, dusted off some skills and I am fairly happy with it. this is Black Wolf's barberian shep

Order arrived from Ugly Books, have to say paper is nice and thick, the color is a lot of fun, in the second image I compare my usual book to this smaller one and we shall see! But absolutely reccomended if you want small and enjoyable :D

Well, did you see it physically done or person doiong it? Has their other work had this caliber? According to the search for the sketch it is real, checking the finished
