Like civilisation, pancake day arrives later in West Yorkshire. Introducing the pancake shaped Arlo - not my cat, but my garden appears to be his.
Recently, I've managed to take a few photos whilst moving the phone around. I'm a better accidental photographer than a conscious one.
Spotted what appears to be a grey heron couple, living on the canal bank inaccessible from a path. They're not tame but they're getting a little less shy now.
It was scorchio by the time we visited Gormley's 'Another Place' at Crosby - most were submerged but this one flashed us.
This courgette is genuinely named 'Rondini De Nice a fruit rond'. Think we can all agree it is very de nice a fruit rond.
The local bees taking advantage of a cooler evening and the French lavender.
One of our grey herons came into land as I turned a bend in the canal, don't usually get this close.
Looks RHD to me but I didn't check. Here's another oddity spotted this morning. Can't believe you're down with this clown car nonsense.
Saw this yesterday, couldn't make out the make or model but thought it very much in @seej500.bsky.social's automobile kink.
I enjoy reading but am easily distracted (big pile of bookmarked paperbacks await). Very much recommend Rory Carroll's 'Killing Thatcher' if you remember the period - once picked up,it is hard to put down and forget.
Been swerving the barber for a few months, got to the bad hair stage of a grow out.
Took this photo last night, the moon was so bright it could almost be mistaken for the sun.
A tad performative from the now closed mining equipment manufacturer, but still nice to see.
Maybe the mothman will lend a proboscis too (excuse the poor photo, it was low light and it moves fast, whilst I do not).
A lot of flowers but they're all fruitless. In a tale as old as time, female courgette flowers come after the males. Hoping the bees enjoying the sage flowers switch to courgette when the time comes.
