Marched in the London Pride parade for the first time in a couple of years and it was lots of fun, great crowds, and the Jesus freak protesters who had twice as many placards* as people in their pen looked absolutely miserable. *Didn't bother getting pics but graphic design is NOT their passion.
For a long time I was ambivalent about queer as a label because quare (as it was in the local vernacular) was the slur that followed me around growing up gay in rural Ireland, so congratulations to the gay not queer brigade, who have annoyed me into being fine with it.
