You do need to book online before entry, but there isn't really a rush of people to go see the event so you can just book at the gate (the guards will help you if you are struggling). You can see everything in under an hour so if you are bored and in the Guomao area go check it out.
The cafe/gift shop on the first floor is really cute, and (like everything in China) has its own mascot
The exhibition is fine: I was neither blown away nor disappointed. There is a paid exhibition on the 5th floor but 68rmb seemed a bit steep for what it is so you will have to look elsewhere for a review of that 😂
CCTV (China's national broadcaster - kind of like China's BBC) has opened up part of their building to the public, and have a free temporary art exhibition (closes on July 25th).
Palahniuk's ''Rant'' is such a trip to read. Definitely enjoyed the experience but not sure I understood what was happening most of the time 😂
