A Lyrical Forest of Radiant Bullshit
@dragovian
I co-write with my wife, talk about World of Warcraft, and sometimes make things in Blender.
I opened up the latest sale email from Blizzard, and I admit I giggled at the Diablo stuff because all I can see in the expression of Mephisto, Lord of Fear, is horrified shock. It's giving
Purely because I'm delighted by this exchange, I have to share a bit of today's work on the Cozy Space Opera Polyamorous Alien Furries.
What clever, clever person at Blizzard decided that the quest progress for Misappropriated Treasures should be warband wide, but the quest should also require all four (soulbound) treasures to be on one character, meaning I need to figure out who needs what to turn it in.
Blizzard's cash shop is certainly milking the cherry trees - excuse me "spring blossom trees" - for all they're worth. Most of the 33 items in the $25 spring blossom decor pack 2 are stepping stones, by the way. We're never getting Pandaren trees in-game, are we?
If anything, I expect Amazon is using the "was AI used in the production of this book" ticky-boxes as market research, so they know what AI services to offer in house. Like the AI translations they recently rolled out as an invite-only beta test.
To update: I went into my unused account and deleted my one unpublished book. After the book was deleted, the message about "accounts with no published books are not subject to maintenance fees" appeared. (I didn't check prior to deleting, so this update may have appeared before the deletion.)
For the record, this is my account status page from the D2D account that does have books on it. They definitely want me to know that even though they can't soak me for money this year, they are ready to nail me next year if I don't up my sales game.
So I have two D2D accounts, because I changed email addresses and D2D doesn't exactly make it EASY to cancel an account. I logged into the account which doesn't need maintenance because it has NO BOOKS, and saw this:
Why is my elf timer so small and how can I fix it?
You know, I'm pretty sure I could have conveyed this message to Shandris without needing to bring every political and military leader in Silvermoon with me, as well as people who didn't even say anything. It's like traveling with Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Nobody can manage a whole paragraph alone.
My inscriptionist went down the Blueprints path to learn the chef's rolling pin, but what unlocked was the Sin'dorei Alchemist's Mixing Rod. I want my rolling pin damn it.
While I am very glad that Blizzard has unlocked steady flight without requiring pathfinder, I'm also going to point out that their example of how flight "trivializes content" is clearly a failure of quest design, rather than an example of flight trivializing content. The problem is entirely with...
I continue to resist Hearthstone's Darkmoon Faire gambling scheme, but I'm woman enough to admit that if I played traditional Hearthstone I would be VERY tempted by Lion's Landing Varian.
This is the adorable piece she did of my priest and his space goat boyfriend
Wasting time in blender rather than actually writing. (Or, in the case of Soul Flame, editing.)
What in the everlasting fuck is going on with these nameplates?
Tonight someone made Gorton's existence worthwhile by telling me "I like your fish sticks." Finally, someone has gotten the joke! I also finished the class hall campaign, so now the Kul Tiran in the yellow rain coat carrying a monk-looking staff can finally display the title "High Priest".
Look, I'm not saying I *like* AI, I'm just saying maybe we should let these big corporations hand off all their decision making to AIs and then bully them into bankruptcy.
This might be the entirety of what I do with housing and I'm okay with that.
I did at least find the counters for beans and produce, though I had to use search to pull them out of my storage chest because for some reason these are not all categorized under food.
I hope you player housing people are happy; I gave in and pre-ordered Midnight STRICTLY so I could have someplace to put out my mushan dumpling trays.
It took me a ridiculously long time to parse this loading screen tip, thanks to the randomly capitalized B (and the lack of any indication that "binds when equipped" was a unified phrase). My brain just persisted in reading Binds as a noun.
I love my Pandaren, but damn I wish we could have a body type like the one we get in Hearthstone, where male Pandaren actually have LEGS.
The deeper I read, the more horrifying this "three cuing" method of reading becomes. You can't teach children to read words by literally COVERING UP THE WORD. How has the entire US education system been gulled into thinking this teaches reading skills? I'm so glad I don't have kids.
I can't believe the game has given me this gift.
My brewmaster is considering becoming the new Gorton's Fisherman. I need to be able to mog my staff into a fishing pole.
Knowing your work, it's hard to believe you don't have twice that many followers. You're amazing. May I present my monk, in all his scarred up glory.
My Lorewalker-Priest has a firm conviction that the Light exists to assist with his late-night research sessions.
Clearly, nothing human could write this opening (that I wrote back in 2021 during NaNoWriMo).
