Second, the pollsters were involved in discussions around the Trump attack ads - in particular the attack ad focused on the Vice President's prior statements on transgendered Americans. They all recognized the attack as very effective, and felt the campaign was boxed - the ad was a video of her saying what she said, and it was framed as an attack on her economic priorities.

No hate, but I find this disingenuous. White trans folks don’t represent me as a trans immigrant. The affluent don’t speak for unhoused trans folks. Gavin Newsom isn’t it, he won’t protect people like other marginalized communities or me. Please stop claiming to represent all of us when you don’t.

For the adults who had to grow up sooner when they were very young.
My soul feels the same pain you do. I'm here for you.
For the times we were in rough relationships because we didn't think we deserve any better. We felt like our body wasn't ours to control.
For all the times you feel outside of your body, for the times other parts of you had to step in. It's difficult, I know.
The whole world demands access to your body before you even know you deserve to exist.

The pendulum swings as evil reigns, just remember that your body is your own.

Trans Day of Remembrance
CW: Death, Near-death experience
Today is a day for those who have left this material world. I used to be an atheist; now I light candles so I can feel the energies of my trans ancestors.
I don't know what happens to us when we die, but I have experienced it. I know we move beyond the vessels that carry us through this life. My heart aches every time we lose a sibling to violence. And my definition of violence moves beyond infliction, violence through systemic means, where we're waterboarded for merely existing.

I experience immense survivor's guilt on this day because I died for 10 seconds.
I remember being outside of my body. I remember facing a white hallway. A woman in a plain white uniform walked toward me, a black dog at her side. I used to think it was my dog Garnet, but she wasn't. Now I think they were guides. The woman extended her hand, and she led me down the hallway. I felt like I was lost. We walked into a room full of faceless people and a bed in the middle. I lay down, and the faceless people all cheered for me.
I woke up three days later. I used to be an atheist. Now I don't know anything. And I don't have to fully comprehend what happened, but I know I have a soul. That moment was the catalyst for me to change my name and finally transition. I know my soul now.

A few months ago, I saw a short video of a man named Jahad Chris Carter being interviewed. He was asked about a hot take he has, and he said he believes trans people are a sign that God is real. We are taught that our bodies are vessels that carry our souls.
I paused after watching that video. I related to it because I have seen my own soul, and
the guides who found me knew I was there too early. I see god in every living thing. But I especially see god in every trans person I've ever met.
And I have seen God in the trans people who are now gone. What does hope look like in the afterlife? To me, it's knowing who my soul is. I believe our trans siblings who are no longer in this material world are energy, and I think about them often.

I hope they are at peace, and I will think of all of you as I light some candles and carry you in my heart.
Wherever you are, my trans siblings, my trans grandparents, I miss you all.

My words for National Coming Out Day 💜🌈

As a person who went through the bisexual she/her- she/they- they/she- they/them-they/he- (and some days) queer AF he/him pipeline, I believe that my coming out has been a cyclical and spiritual experience.
Every day, I find ways to explore what gives me the most peace beyond the restrictions imposed on us since we were babies.
As a trans immigrant, coming out and transitioning is a decolonizing process.
Colonial violence came with binary restrictions of gender; when before, androgyny and queerness had an established place within the community, and in some communities, genderqueer people were regarded as holy.

As a trans survivor, coming out has also been a place of healing. I've experienced abuse in an environment that made it known that my body wasn't my own. After the hospitalization a few years ago, I decided to come out fully. And it was a healing experience. For the first time, in my thirties, I learned to trust myself and accept that I am a trans man. Nothing was more healing to me as a survivor than getting top surgery and taking HRT.

I share this because it's been hard the last few months. Seeing politicians who not only dehumanize trans people, but also dehumanize immigrants and survivors.
Sharing these identities made it hard for me to trust the communities I am a part of when I find that all of my experiences of violence are interconnected.
Abandoning one community over another goes against who I am, and I hope more people can see that.
So for National Coming Out Day, I only want to dream and hope for a day without these systems of violence. That all of my people are free. So that people from places like Gaza, Congo, Sudan, Myanmar, and Ethiopia are free from violence. That there is
