The 16th Century Chantry Chapel, Ely Cathedral. In 1771 the chapel was used to house the bones of seven Saxon 'benefactors of the church'. When the choir was moved, the bones of Wulfstan, Osmund, Athelstan, Ælfwine, Ælfgar, Eadnoth and Byrhtnoth were moved into the chapel. #SaxonSunday

Mathematical Bridge, Queen's College, Cambridge, built 1906. It is a copy of the original of 1749-50. Although it appears to be an arch, it is composed entirely of straight timbers built to an unusually sophisticated design for the time, hence the name. #BridgesThursday

This carved stone head at St Ninian’s Church, Brougham, Cumbria is a medieval corbel set over the south entrance porch. The weathered sandstone carving is a surviving fragment from the earlier Norman church that once occupied the site. #MedievalMonday
