I just saw Nolan’s The Odyssey. Incredible. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. (I can’t hear now, but it was extraordinary). I highly recommend you see it in IMAX, especially for the ocean scenes. Maybe take some ear plugs for the loudest parts!

I have been re-reading dystopian novels and just began an old apocalyptic novel, On the Beach by Nevil Shute. It takes place in Australia, naval commanders and civilians waiting for the nuclear fallout to reach the southern hemisphere. This is a Scholastic edition, circa 1977-78, from high school.
