For the first 2-3 years I had both amateurs and professionals tell me that big, elaborate pages for a webcomic was "pretentious," and "a waste or time." And that the only thing that would ever "make money" was 3-4 panel daily strips...

Kim kind of speaks with a warbly voice, it's just how she sounds. Also there are a few instances in the comic where she has a "normal" speech bubble, which indicates that she's not really speaking with her own voice
