Also: they really were just fucking with Jaguar at this point, weren’t they? (M2 1011 based on the Eunos Cosmo, but with a reconfigured roofline and “British leather interior”. Note the extra walnut for extra Britishness)
And this… Christ there’s a lot of RX8 to the general proportions and massing of forms… Source: www.automobiles-japonaises.com/Mazda/M2/Maz...
Hello, is this the ICC? Yes mam, this is the ICC. How can I help you? Well, I’d like to report a crime. I’d like to report several, in fact…
Margot got new boots yesterday. She’ll likely get a new owner today. And yes, I am feeling anticipatory regret. This thing is still a minor masterpiece.
This thing looks even worse when captured on a regular camera, in a regular street scene. (credit: Jason Camisa on Instagram: www.instagram.com/p/DZX9pW4GGV9/)
Is Bentley about to do a baby Bentayga? Retiring the Bentayga nameplate doesn't make sense. And adding roughly proportionate wheels to the outline they've provided certainly gives the air of a smaller SUV. But, please God, let it be something other than a Q5 or Maccan EV in drag. PLEASE!
Why yes, I *did* notice that the 2024 Lexus IS has the same rear blind mechanism as our 2007 Lexus GS. Who, me? Autistic? Ya don’t say :p
There are two options to clip here: from the horizontal down, or from the wheel arch up. I have no doubt they played with both, and if I had access to photoshop I’d have a play myself, because I’d be totally happy to be wrong here. At least its not this:
Here’s one that Zeekr chief designer Stefan Sielaf made earlier. i.e. he knows better.
Fuck me this is irritating. To wit an excellent example of why we were taught, in car design school, to avoid if at all possible pinch points in shut lines. As seen on the otherwise really rather good Zeekr 7X.
My friend sells mattresses like these here in Oz, and $319k isn’t even the top. I met up with him while he was doing sales training in Stockholm (the company is Hästens, and it’s Swedish), and I lay on a bed that costs over a mil AUD. The base was trimmed in shagreen… Was pretty comfy tho.
This image doesn't quite capture it, but is about as close as I can find to one that demonstrates how the passengers sit slightly more *on* the car than *in* the car.
Have come to the conclusion that the GS 450h is a BMW 540i without melting soft-touch paint nor a propensity to fuck you in bewildering and bewilderingly expensive ways. So it’s quite good, really. And yet… Whomever designed the gauge cluster and telltales was definitely blind. Utter chaos.
I will shout this to everyone who’ll listen to the day I die that Accenture committed one. billion. dollars. to the metaverse in 2022 and I’m sure that investment has paid off nicely for them. *warms hands by the toasty glow of the chart*
It makes me unreasonably unhappy that these things are making it to Australia in increasing numbers.
Guess that investment in the metaverse has really paid off for Julie and the gang...
Remember when the Allroad was an IYKYK kinda delight? Yeah well, memories are a wonderful thing, kiddo...
So cool! Rented an ND in Austria in '21 and razzed it all over the place and up and down alps for a week. Copped a couple of speeding tickets, too. Marvellous thing. Woeful luggage capacity. 100% would do again.
Huh, I also still have the number plates for my first 600, which I brought back to Australia before the M120 grenaded. (it has since had a complete engine rebuild and someone who knows it and its current owner is going to let me know when it’s back on the market…)
These are also an excellent reminder about why a future poor decision might indeed be a poor decision. (this is the snapped timing chain from an M120, and two blown ECUs intended to manage same)
Tidying up the garage and am pleased to see that I’m well prepared for a future poor decision.
The car on show sure as shit wasn’t a production build. It had solid suspension… But *fine* :p This one definitely was *not* a concept car: (as an aside I’m generally not a mid-engine kinda-supercar kinda person, and yet the OG R8 makes me feel things…)
Here’s three concepts they prepared earlier. Teutonic/Bauhaus, but hardly static.
