I remembered last week (during the latest 35° heatwave) how, in the TV weather forecasts of the 80s and 90s, they'd put little yellow suns with the temperatures on the map. And, if it went over 25°, they turned orange to warn us it was going to be REALLY REALLY hot. I'd love a balmy 25° these days…

They've always been airships to me. I used to* find it so exciting that, a few miles down the road from where I lived, were the Cardington Hangars, these MASSIVE buildings dominating the landscape which housed airships (and went on to be used for movie sets) *might still do
I can't hear 'Fast Friends' without thinking of the opening titles, with their wild funky party and a very obviously green-screened Les Dawson
The Happy Eater near my childhood home, which hosted many friends' birthday parties (with paper hats and everything), is now the 'Happy Lovers A1 Sex Shop'. Bonus fun fact: The building includes a special commemorative brick laid by, um, Jimmy Savile 😬
