In a Westminster Hall debate I led earlier this year on the merits of a Minister for Men and Boys, I raised concerns around what society sees as the definition of a 'good man'. Try asking boys and young men who their role models are... I'm always surprised that many don't have an answer.

🚨 87% of respondents to the consultation on Local Government changes in our area OPPOSED the city expansion... But the Labour Government are forcing it through anyway. Any changes should be driven by local people, not imposed on us by decision-makers in Westminster. 1/2

The hospitality sector - pubs, cafes, restaurants, hotels, as well as retail, salons and gyms - has been hit hard by the toxic concoction of changes brought forward under Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves. I hope the new Chancellor, John Healey, takes swift action on this. 1/2

Today I called on the Government to publish how many migrants are being moved out of hotels and into HMOs in local communities, like ours. Ministers boast that hotel numbers are falling, but they refuse to say *where* people are actually being moved to. 1/2

RABI - the Farmers Charity - has launched FarmersAid, a free app which aims to help speed up responses when a serious accident occurs on a farm. Although agriculture accounts for around 1% of the workforce, it is responsible for around 20% of all workplace fatalities. 1/2

My team and I recently opened our 40,000th piece of casework and/or correspondence since I was first elected nearly 2,400 days ago 🗳️ Thanks to everyone who has been in touch to raise a piece of casework or a policy query with me. 1/4

Following concerns raised with me by many local people, I secured a meeting with the Immigration Minister to put to him my significant concerns about the growing number of HMOs in Hinckley, Earl Shilton, Barwell and the wider area. A 🧵.

Last week the report led by Donna Ockenden into maternity care in Nottingham was published. The lack of leadership at the Trust and the culture it uncovered was frankly terrible. 1/2

Congratulations to all the organising group for putting such a big event on, and to all the stalls, vendors, entertainment acts and the volunteers who did a great job for the community! And Roux even met her match, an Irish Wolfhound! #burbagesummerbigbash 2/2

After the cricket, it was down to the #Burbage Summer Big Bash. A new event held on the Britannia Fields, there was loads of entertainment and fun for the family, and not quite as hot as it has been - phew! 1/2

Lovely to join Earl Shilton Town Cricket Club for their President's day and open the day of cricket. Such a beautiful location and stunning view, and founded in 1815! Lots of young players getting involved and food, drink and stalls a plenty. 1/2

The Garden Group give the money raised to the local school, Scouts, guides, messy church, and some local ‘warm rooms’ in local churches - to name but a few! It starts at St James Church Hall on Main Street - so if you are in the area, why not pop in? 2/2
