Flikk enjoyed exploring the «stamphuset» on Håneåsen. This was a processing «mill» for wool. They used the water to turn a wheel which «stamped» the wool - cleaning and processing it for felt making

«Spring» never ceases to surprise me…(and typically I packed all my winter clothes and sent them to the new house)
After 6 months of searching for the right house we finally have the key to our dream home… and it’s massive! The previous owners left us a lot of historic items and information about the house from old newspapers etc.
Once again I find myself apologising to the good people of Trondheim- we changed to summer tyres yesterday…

Flikk’s cousin came to stay over the weekend. They spent most of time like this.
Our «Hell» has also frozen over (although Hell in this case probably relates to a rock cave or overhang «hellir» in old Norse)

Beautiful morning walk with Flikk before the awful weather arrived. “Red sky in the morning- shepherds warning” being very apt.
It’s been a frustrating week so far - digging our way out of the house and then digging our way back in to the house each day. But my cycle ride home today makes up for it all. Winter here is so beautiful (not all the time!)
This years open, reproducible & transparent science course is underway. There is always one «student» who falls asleep in the back!
We said goodbye to summer last night and hello to winter this morning. This is our last winter in our “cabin in the woods” - it is going to be hard to say goodbye
I’m at the stage of the holiday when my mind turns back to research. Does anyone know of a high quality systematic review on the effectiveness of bird scaring devices? These ones don’t seem to work well. (If you have pictures of them failing that would be interesting too!)
New balcony bird…It’s been a windy and wet day today so I think he was looking to come inside and warm up by the fire.

Flikk and I had to take some evasive action and hide in the neighbours garden this morning as this fella took a dislike to Flikk.
Bumped in to this little fox on my way back from the gym. He had caught a blackbird (svarttrost) and was heading back to his home along the road (one of the neighbours has the den in their garden)
Going in to the office in July in Norway is what I imagine boarding the Marie Celeste must have been like (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Ce...).

Flikk and I had a long ride back up the hill from town. We had a pitstop halfway up and then both of us collapsed on the lawn when we reached the finish.
