I use manual so the iso is mostly what I change on the fly. This Juve I took just before the adult and shutter was 1000 and iso iso 12800:
Smokey the Eagle. Eagle hanging around the nest area where one last chick is still hanging around on a very smoky morning:
There's been a few of these around the river, but very illusive. I did finally get a few shots of an Indigo Bunting from this week, Rock River Photos:
Last chick at the nest area, the other 2 fledged a week prior & flying around the islands. This one was probably hatched a couple weeks later.
No twirlers on my maples this year because of previous temps this spring and winter wiped out the buds. And not just maples were affected - fruit, nut trees, other trees, and plants are also affected.
This shot of a Juvenile Red-tailed hawk made it worth my trouble db yesterday. I knew there was a nest, but I couldn't see it. They perched in this spot for one day, I went back yesterday & they were gone. There was 2 chicks and while loading the boat I saw an adult bring them a meal.
A grey squirrel from yesterday in the same area I see red and black squirrels.
Guess who's eating Japanese beetles? The Eastern Bluebirds in my back yard!
Moon this morning, I finally made it out on the rock. I did one drift and didn't see much, but the 2nd drift I spotted 2 juvenile RT Hawks, that female eagle and a couple chicks, one is still at nest, they other 2 fledged as did the Hawks.
My Zinnias are starting to bloom in this one area where an old stump was. The others I planted around aren't doing so well this year.
Female Bald Eagle from last time out. No she wasn't staring at me the whole time I drifted by, but makes for better photo when she does look:
I came across that black red squirrel again, he's still hinging in there:
Kingbird from last time out. I'm not going out until it cools down. The river is already warm, which makes the air feel worse.
