hmmm DCTA, lets see how this turns, my plan of starting to do monthly ridership reports got more interesting
Misgendered but wokely bc I can read housing economics papers. I sat on my cities affordable housing corporations board and helped secure an additional $5M in affordable housing funds for my city. I think I have a decent idea what I'm talking about.
Alrighty. Election results are getting canvassed and winners are getting sworn in. Nothing too exciting here: 2 incumbents won unopposed, 1 won opposed, And 2 minor charter amendments passed. The big one is in June, to do the D3 runoff winner
I am going to need one month, 4 therapy sessions, and at least 5 beers to process whatever the hell is happening in this twitter thread
Holy shit y'all. Anyways, go vote! Last day of early voting is today until 7PM. Saturday you have to go to your specific polling location, which you can find on vote Denton.
Car based mobility is expensive on a good day, but it's very expensive on a bad day. What's the over/under on damages from this fairly minor crash? Between car damage, first responder costs, and medical, maybe $30,000?
Not to brag or anything but today I was the 12th most helpful rider of the month on the Minneapolis green line
The nicollet Mall through downtown Minneapolis having dedicated bus lanes but no signal priority is crazy work
Alrighty I am here at the Denia forum, a little bit late, or maybe they started a smidge early? Karen shares her origin story of living near UNT campus and having a 26 home apartment building that would "loom" over her home and getting apartments outlawed near her.
On the cap metro rapid rn. Lots of good bits here: - all door boarding - extra long bus - nice-ish stops - bus lanes through downtown - operator is flooring it lol - live TV of upcoming stops - bus stops are spaced pretty far and positioned (mostly) after intersections - no window ads
New article from @edzitron.com ripping into the company Core Scientific is contracted to build the AI data center for. Among other things, it was supposed to IPO last week to raise billions of dollars (presumably for things like the allegedly $6.1B Denton campus). It didn't.
They're using the North lakes rec center speaker system so they have the candidates wearing this headset, which I guess they'll pass around from question to question?
Alrighty I am at the North lakes preservation group D3 candidate forum at the North Lakes Rec Center. Candidates are, left to right, Kelly Smith Suzi Rumohr @suzir.bsky.social - (my mobility committee co-member) Former P&Z Chair Margie Ellis And Master Botanist Karen DeVinney
New supply/fixing shortage reduces prices in low income neighborhoods the most.
For the past few years Austin development has been defined by densification, not sprawl. The bottom Orange bar is multifamily.
Please stop telling me things about roads I have decided I know longer want to know what a road is
Alrighty I am at City Council. Tracey Duckworth is here again for the first comment. She says she has realized city council "don't care" about homeless people. She says people are dying on the streets "right now."
