Planning a trip to see family down south at the end of the month and it never ceases to amaze me how expensive trains are in this country. Off peak return is £148. Guess I'll be driving. I could fly to Mallorca on the same dates for half the price
Still love working out here though. Beats a bedroom desk any day
He's no longer the top earner though. That honour goes to Rishi Sunak
Updated my MP second jobs gadget for the first time in ages. It is quite remarkable how much Nigel Farage has earned since the election.
According to my walking tour guide, this building was street level when it was built, but needs a new stair adding every 10/20 years
Still blows my mind that this is how much resale tickets cost for tonight’s Mexico game. Would love to go see a match at the Azteca, but no way I’m paying this. I moan about paying £50 for Leeds games 😅
Germany, Paraguay, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and even Scotland fans all in a pub together in Mexico City watching the football and having a laugh. This is why the World Cup’s great
I bout this Italy top just before Euro 96 (it turned out not to be the one Italy wore for the tournament, but it was harder to check these things back then) Still wear it and it’s still going strong
Nice pre match lunch here in Mexico City. Getting the beers in before the fanzone which - warning to any England fans planning on travelling here for the L16 - is totally dry
I refused to pay fifa’s prices for the Bielsa v Spain game, so am in the fan zone instead #lufc
Absolutely packed in Guadalajara fan zone. Gonna be a struggle getting another pint.
Philadelphia may have its cheese steak sandwich, but Guadalajara has Torta Ahogada which may well be the nicest, and sloppiest, sandwich there is
Mexico City was crazy last night. Spoke to a few Mexico fans who fancy their chances against England in the QFs
Even the dogs are getting into the spirit ahead of tonight’s Mexico game
Robert Kenyon was saying on QT last night that the UK population has grown by 10 million in a short time. It went unchallenged, but it's not right. It's taken from 2002 for the population to grow by that amount, hardly a 'short time'
In Coldhurst in Oldham, 57% of children were living in poverty last year. The @manchestereveningnews.co.uk sent Chris Slater to see what life is like for people there www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...
Seven Premier League clubs have released their kits for next season. Chelsea are currently the most expensive at £90 for a standard adult shirt, which is the same price as a new England top. Leeds are the cheapest so far at £75
The new #lufc away shirt is out, and it's a beauty. It's also £75 though, which is a fiver more than last year and a tenner more than the 2024/25 top. Prices are up 56% over the last 10 years, which is above the rate of inflation (41%). Had prices increased with inflation a new top would be £67
