I agree with Becky Hill about Jack Whitehall’s snobbery here. Having him as Brits host is indicative that the music industry has no real qualms about freezing out working-class talent.
If you get the chance, see Frankie Monroe live. I could wang on about performance art, clowning, the death of the working men’s club. Really, though, he’s silly. And right now, we need silly.
Strong recommend for the final of BBC New Comedy Awards. The first comic isn’t for me, but the other five are all great - I’d love to see three of them live. Last year’s winner, Frankie Monroe, is the closest we’ve had to Reeves & Mortimer in ages.
