The Dragon of East Rock
@eastrockpark
Retired dragon. Curmudgeon. Caffeine fueled. Loves cats, turtles, critters, and knitting.
Thanks! I slept very well last night. The kitties seem to be settling in very nicely.
This little guy is Ronny. He is 13 years old and 9 pounds. Ronny is a shy, quiet boy who spends much of his time alone, sleeping in another room. When he wakes up he heads towards me meowing until I start petting him. Belly is not a trap for him either. He is a very nervous boy and startles easily.
This little guy is Elvis. He is 13 years old and 9.5 pounds. My sister called Elvis her "best boy". He loves to sit with you and get pets. Belly is not a trap. He is a frequent companion for me and will definitely make me take work breaks periodically. He is smart and learns fast. Sweet boy.
There has been a work stoppage here due to cats but I will allow it because it's still 15 minutes before the alarm goes off. Sitting with purring kitties is a very good way to start the day.
Bind off complete! I will weave in ends tomorrow. Just a quick look at the offending seed stitch. I hate the way my phone camera dulls the color so I don't think I'll be posting the full project.
I communicated with the company and they said this bulb is no longer available. It's been deemed unsafe.
Day 3. Yeah. Woke up to news and noped out. Have done chores. Chores are eternal. By Cathy Guisewite.
Like, okay, it only connects you if you are also in their contact list, but see above. Just being in a mutual list is not the same thing as wanting to share political views or cat videos with.
I finished this knit beanie in the past week. I'm working on another one using a different pattern now. You can never have too many hats in winter. Yellow is cheerful!
Anyway, this is the dude who passed out. I don't know his name but I've seen him hanging around Trump before. I hope he's okay. Geez. Look at Trump in this photo. Can you be any more checked out?
There is an animal rescue organization in Cummings, Georgia called FurKids. Yesterday their transport van heading to Vermont with 37 cats aboard was involved in a serious accident on I-85 south of mile marker 147, Jackson Co. 35 cats have been recovered and are safe. Two cats are still missing.
Bye, bye, baby girl. Good luck in your new home! I'm going to miss you, Jumper! And that's a wrap on the Connecticut chapter of Kitten Academy. Now that everybody has found homes, I can relax and enjoy the current momcat and her kittens. I couldn't really do that until now.
First of all, Jumper is still looking for a home. She's adorable and she's very shy, but she'll warm to you and give you lots of love if you give her time. Apply at kitten.academy/adopt. A long overdue and newsy news update is now available on the KA website. kitten.academy/mewspaper/20...
When you call yourself a disability advocate and then you make posts that I can't process without undue attention due to my own issues, are you really an advocate. This is obviously a bot someone has set up. Don't bug them. But they irked my last nerve this morning, so... (the promised alt text)
I rather appreciated this positioning of posts in my feed.
Cloak and Romper are ready for immediate adoption as a bonded pair for the total cost of only $175 at the Danbury Animal Welfare Society in Danbury, Connecticut. See daws.org/daws-forms for the application or the above post for a link to the PetFinder page.
Danbury, CT: I am pleased to be able to provide this update on Cloak and Romper. DAWS has now seen what we all knew already. They are a bonded pair. They have also updated photos. Please help Cloak and Romper find a new home by sharing this information. Thank you. www.petfinder.com/cat/cloak-an...
A few bonus pictures of Cloak because she is so hard to describe. I apologize for my abysmal alt text descriptions. I am not good at describing images and these cats are all image.
The cats still seeking adoption are: Cardigan, a regal black female who is about 9 months old. Jumper, an adorable and energetic black and white tuxedo female who is about 10 months old. Cloak, a hand shy love bug, and her son, Romper, a black and white tuxie boy. They are both shy and sweet.
You need a Noodle in your life! She is waiting for you very patiently in her cute little cactus pod. Noodle needs a new home or a foster no later than July 5. Please see the attached thread for more information and share this post. Even if you can't adopt a Noodle, adopt from your local shelter!
Kitten Academy has a family of four lovely black panther kitties. The mother is Cape. The kittens are Poncho, Cardigan and Parka. Cape and Parka, I am happy to say, do have a confirmed adopter. Poncho and Cardigan are still looking for an adopter or foster. They are around 8-1/2 to 9 months old.
I went to the Discord community last night and mentioned I needed some good photos of a few of the kittens and by the end of the evening, one of the Discord members had created this new ad for Cloak, Tutu, and Romper. Aren't they cute?
Meet the Tuxies at Kitten Academy! Blazer is a fun loving guy. He needs a friend to play with. Jumper is a great gal. Loves to play. She's a little aloof and touchy so will need time to get used to other cats. Smock is an adorable girl who loves her sibs but is very nervous around other cats.
From a few minutes ago, this photo has Blazer, Tutu and Romper playing together. www.youtube.com/live/6EdrTEn...
