My partner is exactly the type of 🇵🇷 that #BadBunny is talking about: who lost everything during hurricane Maria + left the island to start over in mainland US to pursue his dreams. It's SO difficult esp with the Latino hate + ICE raids targeting + kidnapping/harming any Latino folks off the streets.

Extended vid: The kid had his American passport, but ICE refused to look at it. My Latino partner also carries around his American passport + driver's license everywhere, even on neighborhood walks. But that isn't enough when ICE racially profiles anyone Latino + refuses to look at identification.

This could've easily been my Latino partner when he used to work at Best Buy. He's been afraid to leave our house recently due to racial profiling. This is a 17yr old CHILD US citizen that was taken + roughed up by ICE while working his Target shift. They dropped him off later bruised+bleeding.

Today Trump posted a message saying that Democratic lawmakers should be hanged. This is NOT okay for anyone to say, nevermind the president of the country. This is NOT NORMAL and is NOT OKAY. Trump needs to be held accountable for threatening the lives of US representatives (and everything else).

"Amid the smoke bombs and screams that ricocheted throughout a South Shore building last month during a massive military-style immigration raid, one man heard a knock on his door.

On the other side was a mom and her 7-year-old daughter, pleading for his help.

“I wasn’t planning on letting her stay, but I didn’t know what the hell was going on,” the man said of his Venezuelan migrant neighbors. But he quickly relented. The little girl was inconsolable and hid under his bed.

“I didn’t want them to take her,” said the man, who didn’t want to be named because he fears he’ll be targeted by federal authorities for his actions.

“I gave her my bedroom, and I just told her, ‘Just stay there. Don’t open, don’t, shh, just stay quiet,’” he recalled telling the mom and daughter as he choked back tears."

Armed federal agents in military fatigues busted down their doors overnight, pulling men, women and children from their apartments, some of them naked, residents and witnesses said. Agents approached or entered nearly every apartment in the five-story building, and U.S. citizens were among those detained for hours.

When he got home from work, Jones said he entered his unit to find all of his electronics and furniture missing, and all of his clothes and shoes thrown on the floor. Jones said he had no idea who took his belongings and hadn’t received answers from Chicago police.

In case you didn't hear what happened on Tues: ICE raided a Chicago apt with guns/flashbang grenades/drones/helicopters + dragged men women and children (some naked), including US citizens, out of their apts, separating children from their parents + taking them away. www.wbez.org/immigration/...

Watson said she saw agents dragging residents, including kids, out of the building without any clothes on and into U-Haul vans. Kids were separated from their mothers, she said.

“It was heartbreaking to watch,” said Watson. “Even if you’re not a mother, seeing kids coming out buck naked and taken from their mothers, it was horrible.”

In the South Shore raid, neighbors said federal agents used flashbang grenades to burst through the building and several drones and helicopters were deployed.

Ebony Sweets Watson, who lives across the street, said it “looked like hundreds” of agents were outside her front door.

Rodrick Johnson, 67, is one of many residents who were detained by federal agents during the South Shore raid. A U.S. citizen, he said agents broke through his door and dragged him out in zip ties.
