Original founder of @electionmapsuk, and #BirdTheFeckAtHome - easily distracted. I will bring Lib Dem Barcharts to Bluesky soon. Quit twitter for good - it’s a festering hole. Latest obsession is chillies. 🌶️🔥
Genuine question - and the night is early and this may age badly, but are Greens under-performing?
Remembering the last time a political party appointed an ex Lib Dem as their leader…
Last two results for tonight not yet reported elsewhere here. LD hold - Hoe Valley, Woking LD hold - Woking South, Surrey
Takahē - think a Moorhen with a shedload of 1980s East German steroids…
Sorry - but I think this needs posting today. 😂 Full article here: www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/798...
Beautiful moment at the end of the ABC’s Australian Election coverage. Anthony Green, their brilliant election analyst over the last 30 years is retiring, and the last 7 Prime Ministers all took part in a video put together as a thank you. It was a surprisingly nice touch.
My usual grumble that the polling booths are smaller than the ballots… They call Australia the Lucky Country - but jeesus the state of the senate ballot shows we’re anything but lucky - it’s a who’s who of Jabba’s Palace!
That sole rural red division in Oxfordshire is the People’s Republic of, er, Chipping Norton.
Comparing neighbouring Oxfordshire and Wiltshire and how the LD voter base varies. - In Wilts almost all LD divisions are the more *urban built-up places and the Tories hold the rural wards. The opposite is true in Oxon with LDs sweeping the rural wards but nothing in Witney, Banbury, Didcot, etc.
