Movies my husband has brought home lately: Hail, Caesar!, The Gift, Soylent Green, and Seven. What we watched last night: the 1993 action/police drama Striking Distance. One of these days we'll stop scrolling through streaming channels for half an hour before landing on something terrible.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched: a pretty good week for movies when Speilberg's latest is my lowest rated watch.

My husband brought home a movie for me and a movie for the kids today but they already absconded with it so you just get the photo of Day of the Dead.

They did. My husband sent me photos and they were still blooming when I got home so yay.

In my hotel room for a few more minutes to chill before going home after StokerCon. Had such a phenomenal time, got to chat with a bunch of people I rarely get to see, celebrate people's wins, and get inspired to write more. And got some books, too.

Pretty sure this peony is going to open while I'm at StokerCon and I'm a tiny bit sad about it.

The very kind folks at Beacon commissioned the artist who did the cover of Love Never Dies to screenprint posters of the cover art. They sent me #1 of the run. Framed and mounted next to my desk. Obsessed. The artist is Dan McCarthy, he is awesome.

Ben is not on Bluesky, so I'm going to post for him. The Gravity of Us is a radically hopeful, beautiful, compelling queer love story set against the backdrop of space exploration. There's mystery and romance and labour organizing (!) and SO. MUCH. YEARNING. I love it so much and I hope you do too!

I've mentioned it before but my husband works for a film distributor and as such he often brings movies home for me. Today we got home and he pulled out a copy of the new Arrow 4k of Nightbreed from his bag! I love this movie and I'm so excited to watch it again.

Haven't done a #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched in a bit. Sam Raimi's latest which I wanted to like more than I did; an absolutely batshit weird dog detective short film; classic Harryhausen stop motion; and one of the most gorgeous films I've ever seen: Black Narcissus.

My husband brought home two Indonesian horror movies last night which I've never seen: Mystics in Bali and Queen of Black Magic. He mostly picked them up because my parents live in Bali but I'm looking forward to checking them out!

If nothing else, no one can ever say I do things halfway. I'm so in love with my book cover that I ordered custom fabric and sewed up a dress. Then I got a tattoo inspired by the illustration.

My husband brought home a Fire & Ice for me today! Packaging looks fantastic.

I guess now that StokerCon is less than a month away I should mention that I'll be there again this year. I'm taking pitches so I'll be at the pitch session Q&A, then I'm moderating a panel about editing featuring a fabulous group of panelists. Hope to see you there!

One of the things I wanted to do when I sold my book was to get a tattoo commemorating it. Even better, the cover illustration is amazing so today I'm getting a tattoo based on the cover design. Stay tuned, I am stoked!

I planted peonies three years ago, and last year I got one flower but this year I might get three. Elated.

Sometimes (okay, most of the time), my job is pretty great. I have read this book probably six or so times by now (not including its previous iterations) but holding it in my hands is pretty awesome.
