“Sway” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC Another iteration of the scenery two evenings ago. I was struggling for a title for this image and the grass kept getting my attention, so that stuck. It’s such a calming place, even with the wind and the waves. Always a nice way to wind down the day.
“Ancient Witness” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC I keep returning to this place. It reveals a new aspect of itself every time. Different light, different textures, different energy. The oak tree is a central fixture, bearing witness to all seasons and all the weather. Changing, yet serene.
“Sandbanks Sunset” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC A simple title for another beautiful visit to one of my favourite spots. Every time I come here I’m presented with a slightly different aspect of the same place. #edlehmingphotography
“Windswept Gap” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC After a rainy day, and a mostly cloudy day, the weather cleared this evening. It was however, still very windy, which provided me with some interesting and dynamic images. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #sandbanksprovincialpark
It was raining all day, so I resorted to birds and flowers in the garden. #edlehmingphotography #birdsofinstagram #summer2026 #goldfinchesofinstagram
And now, something completely different. “Waiting…” Rudbeckia Blossom. It’s rainy now, so I turned to my garden for inspiration. I made this macro image of a Black-Eyed Susan blossom about to open, once the sun returns. #edlehmingphotography #gardenmacrophotography #nikond800 #summer2026
“Painted Skies” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC. This is another evolution series. Original, edited, digital painting, from this past Thursday evening. The sky was nothing less than stunning after two smoke-filled days. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecountry #sandbanksprovincialpark #summer2026
Another series today from a photo I made yesterday at dusk (after the smoke cleared). The shot is looking north, along Sandbanks Provincial Park’s Lakeshore Beach: Original, edited, and a digital painting #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #sandbanksprovincialpark #summer2026 #summersunsets
“Standing in Awe” - Lakeshore Lodge Point, PEC After a day of surreal, smoke filled skies and another day of hazy, acrid skies, the wildfire smoke let up at dusk and I was able to get out for a few more sunsets. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #countyartist #summer2026 #summersunsets
“Pink Wave” - County Road 4, PEC Another image from this past Thursday, right after the rains had passed through. Lots of pink clouds. It felt a bit dream-like. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #summer2026 #countyartist #pinkskies
“Waiting in the Weeds” - County Road 34, PEC Just a single frame today, from yesterday’s sunset. I know, it’s wild parsnip, but the stuff is literally everywhere these days. With the outstretched branches, it’s almost like they are celebrating dusk. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty
A new approach: 1.2.3. The original image, the edited image, the digital painting. I was blessed again this evening with beautiful post-storm sunset skies. Such a typical County scene. That’s one of the reasons I love it here. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #summer2026 #ruralscenes
A final visit to Monday’s sky. This time focussing on a thistle at the edge of a wheat field. I was drawn by the contrasting colour and the pop of purple. Once more, rendered as a digital painting. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #summer2026 #ruralscenes
The two view treatment again. The images above were made after storms rolled through the area on July 1st. I have already posted a few other frames but wanted to revisit the landscape orientation because the light played a bit differently. #edlehmingphotography #artinthecounty #summersunsets
A revisit to the location of yesterday’s image. The clouds had rolled in just as I arrived. I ‘almost’ captured the nice colours I saw just before my six minute drive. This the title “The Almost Sky”. Such is the nature of photography. Many ‘almost’ moments.
Another image of the beautiful July 1st sunsets in Prince Edward County
Beautiful July 1st sunsets in Prince Edward County after a stormy afternoon.
A virtual “sea” of tulips today at Ottawa’s Commissioner’s Park. And, great weather too. 😎🌷
Well, things are finally”popping”, even experienced the first few dopey black flies today.
A foggy drive home in Prince Edward County made for some nice roadside compositions.
“Hilltop Cluster” - Sandbanks Provincial Park These clusters of trees always catch my eye and I keep trying to present them in the same way I see them. This shot just had to be in mono to show all the detail effectively.
