Wow. I am officially the worst at the Cracker Barrel peg game. Don’t ask how I managed this.
Free popcorn for Elizabeths! Therefore I am Queen today and shall be addressed as such.
*winces in English professor* Oh, Northside. How could you? (Yes, I know they’re kidding, don’t @ me.)
A doe and two fawns greeted me when I came home from work. They’re now hiding in the wooded area between our yard and the neighbors. I love living in a Disney movie.
First, random ad, those are two separate things and one of them is impossible. I'm with you on scented candles and reading pillow (though why you called it "husband pillow" absolutely boggles me). Reading lights and tea stuff too. Bookmarks? Dude, we have 200 and still end up using the receipt.
Celebrating the centennial of Route 66 with approximately the entire town by the park bandstand, listening to classic rock with free root beer floats, a classic car show and historic trolley tours, because I live in frigging Mayberry.
It's always hilarious when I get spam telling me my ChatGPT or OpenAI payment has failed, considering I have never once used the bloody plagiarism machine and never will.
That was the most thorough body search I’ve ever had at TSA, Precheck be damned. I’m not even wearing one of the subversive shirts: just “It all started at the Scholastic Book Fair.” Either I look sketchy today or somebody owes me dinner.
It’s been a delight, #concarolinas! Thank you for your warm welcome, and safe travels home! #proofoflife
Dangit! The Hamburglar turned just as I snapped a pic. I haven’t seen any of the McD characters “in real life” since I was eight years old. Lock up your cheeseburgers!
I have finally made it to #mocon! It’s only taken eight years, and I understand I missed a hell of a poetry slam last night, but I’m looking forward to today’s talks and have already bumped into several folks I know. :)
New anthology out today from the St. Louis Writers Guild, containing one of my more Twilight-Zone-esque short stories. (Is that an adjective? It is now.) Blog has the linkydinks for to purchase. Many thanks to the good folks at SLWG on their hard work! www.elizabethdonald.com/2026/04/11/i...
My #awp26 haul. I think I was fairly restrained. (What. Some of them were free.) This is why I brought a spare suitcase...
My students brought me a Frappuccino. I am absurdly touched. Or they think I need more caffeine.
