Team 1 Montenegro. As another day draws to an end. An early night beckons as we move on tomorrow.
Team 1 World Challenge to Montenegro. Day 3 Trekking, the red mountain. Temperatures have dropped tonight after a massive downpour and now along with the rest of the town we have no water. Hopefully it will get sorted soon. We move on tomorrow.
Finally, no Iceland trip would be complete without a relaxing spa visit. The Laugarás Lagoon was perfect to round off our visit.
Next stop was Dyrhólaey coast where a few intrepid explorers hiked up a steep path for the beautiful views & we saw some puffins and coastal landforms.
A packed physical landscapes day today starting off with a hike up Sólheimajökull glacier.
Today we climbed Eldfell volcano & visited an interactive museum to find out about the eruptions on the stunning Vestmannaeyjar (Heimay) island.
The lava show, Fly Over Iceland & a dinner of fresh fish & chips rounded off our first day before heading to the Hotel Ork.
Quick pit stop in Reykjavik to see Hallgrímskirkja church & the rainbow street. Some of us went for a walk & others snoozed on the coach.
We’ve arrived safely in Iceland 🇮🇸 Have driven through Grindavik to see the effects of the most recent eruptions, had pizza & wings for lunch & heard about the Icelandic search & rescue team.
Little viewpoint hike on our last day. The rain just about stopped so we could see some lovely Lakeland views over Derwent Water.
Our physical geographers had a very different day climbing mountains to look at glacial features. They got told eat lunch in a pop up tent due to the inclement weather!
We split into two groups for our pilot studies today. Our human Geographers learned various techniques in a slightly rainy but drier than expected Carlisle.
Y12 have made a great start to their NEA with some water & carbon pilot studies in Blencathra this afternoon.
Our winner of the photo competition was Aydan for this stunning picture taken in Madonna🌅
Just landed in Manchester airport after a brilliant week in Italy skiing ⛷️ Our ETA is currently 20:30pm. Please can we ask parents/carers to keep the road up to the bus turning circle clear, so we can get the coach up the road and unload the cases/students safely. Thank you and see you soon! 😃
Moody Marmot for today is Lucas... Surprisingly he wasn’t in the mood for a photo😂
