We have tomatoes!!! We potted a cherry tomato plant about five weeks ago and we finally have fruit! I'll be curious to see if the pumpkin that the squirrels planted for us results in anything...

Tonight my daughter's class had their 8th grade promotion ceremony. My little girl is a high school freshman now. Dang.

A class of eighth graders in blue graduation gowns sit on chairs on a gymnasium floor, waiting to be promoted to high school. Friends and family sit on bleachers to either side, watching the ceremony.

I saw this person's sign while marching and thanked them for including ALL the names of ICE's victims, not just the white people. Their response: "I just hate that I almost ran out of space. "

Did the #NoKings march in Chicago with my daughter and @stephaleen.bsky.social today. Absolutely fantastic to see (and hear) so many people who want an end to this autocracy/kakistocracy "running" this country. The regime should be scared -because the people are not.

My son is watching The Nightmare Before Christmas AGAIN, as if there's any doubt he's my son. Hey, there's a reference to St Patrick's Day in there! It's on theme!

I am so, so sad to hear the amazing Catherine O'Hara is gone. I'd watch her on SCTV when I was a kid, not getting most of the jokes. And then there was Beetlejuice, and both my beloved Sally and Shock in NBX. And then Moira Rose. Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman... Pure genius.

I shared with my daughter what is probably my favorite painting in the whole museum, Reganeschi's Saturday Night by John Sloan, 1912, oil on canvas. It depicts women socializing without men or chaperones, out having fun once societal rules changed and they could just be free in public together.

A painting of a busy restaurant. Three women in turn of the century clothes and large hats sit together at a table with a white tablecloth and cane back chairs. They drink with pinky fingers raised, feet hooked around chair legs, and obvious glee, all signs that they are not high society ladies, but they're having a great time together all the same.

Mideval art with offputting versions of Jesus (baby or adult) make me laugh til I cry. I have no idea who made any of these paintings, as I had to haul ass out of the gallery from giggling so hard.

This Jesus is going to sashay away ... to Heaven!

The proportions of Jesus's torso are that of a baby, but his hairline says he has a 401(k).

Come for the man-faced cherubs, stay for creepy baby Jesus!

What has happened to his head? Did they dip it in glue and roll him in hay from the manger?

4. Friar Pedro now has the upper hand! He's pulled the gun from El Maragato, who now lays on the ground while the friar stands above, the muzzle of the rifle in his hands.

5. The bandit tries to escape, but Friar Pedro is fed up with this crap and shoots El Maragto in his yellow pants-clad leg. (A horse scampers away in the background.)

6. Blood pools under El Maragato's butt as he sits on the ground. Friar Pedro kneels next to him, tying the bandit's hands behind his back. To the side, a group of men with weapons crest a hill, coming to arrest El Maragato after the friars takedown.

First, I found this series of six paintings by Francisco de Goya portraying the story of a friar who took on a famous bandit. So many people just walked right by, didnt even look! The DRAMA people were missing!

1. Famous criminal El Maragato stealing from people. The bandit wields a gun towards a dejected man, who hangs his head. In the background are scared people in a room (I assume the hostages).

2. El Maragato comes after Friar Pedro del Salvidia. He points his gun at the Friars, who doesn't look too happy about it. El Maragato doesn't know what he's in for.

3. Friar Pedro wrestles the gun from El Maragato! Whatever plunder the bandit had, it's now on the ground, lost in the tussle.
