Happy day of chocolate cake, but I suppose I should specify what kind of chocolate. German.
Goliath sending sweet dreams to you. He was out! It's quite cold here and he found the warm spot where I had been reading in bed 💙💙
Monday book group is random day drinks club for the season. Blackbird club was Thursday, busy w/writers group, but switched to Monday morning which would be 2 for one book club day, but now it's gone to Wednesday. We had our gift book party, and I can't remember what I got, but I gave a favorite
This came up on my insta at the perfect time - www.instagram.com/share/reel/B...
Happy belated birthday (intentionally) to me and happy book birthday to @janeharrington.bsky.social I pre-ordered through bookshop.org and I can hardly wait to get started reading! Extremely busy schedule means I must wait a bit.
I'm back! It was an Epic Journey. It's probably going to take another month to tell you all about my month.
I am absolutely stealing this for the Friday pool. (We have a literal pool of extra signs. A blue plastic pool.)
Help! I lifted this photo from someone here on bluesky, forgot to note who it was, and now cannot find it. I tried image searching via Google. Can anyone help? Thank you 🤞💙
Turning my back on what appeared to be the sole counterprotestor in Springfield, Illinois (some kid driving a big-assed white pickemup flying a trump2024 flag). The top of my sign is cut out of the photo. It says, "Yard Sale" at the top. (See Alt text for more details.) Waterproofing & layers.
I had such a fabulous time at the demonstration with @evhemphill.bsky.social Every week, the crowd swells larger. Here's a photo of Evie and me with our protest signs.
It's here! Inventing the Renaissance, by Ada Palmer @adapalmer.bsky.social I ordered mine from my local bookstore, Afterwords @afterwordsbooks.bsky.social via bookshop.org Next, I need time for reading.
For #WorldPoetryDay, here is a poem I wrote back on February 14 on my protest sign. Photo taken today at City Park in Edwardsville at the weekly Friday noon demonstration.
Every Friday at noon. City Park, Edwardsville, just across the river from St. Louis. I look so damnably joyous here. I'm glad to be able to participate, but I do NOT feel the way I appear. #EatTheRich #ProtestPoetry I might have borked the alt text. My phone can't handle it correctly.
I pulled some cards beneath the eclipsed Worm moon. As usual for me, Major Arcana feature strongly. I haven't even begun to delve into the symbolic meanings yet. A French radio station played eerie baroque music as the moon slid into occlusion.
Home at last! After 17 hours at the ER (& $25 for parking) I'm exhausted - the upshot is that the doctors overreacted. I'm somewhat annoyed, but also it's better to have a false alarm than to ignore and/or be ignored. Also, Goliath is the best kitty in the whole wide world.
Goliath knows I'm not feeling my best, and this hug position he got himself into is so comforting.
My cousin Mike absolutely exuded chill. I'm but an apprentice. I think you can acquire the skill by hanging out with a master. Wish he were still alive. I think this was the last time The Cousins Mike played out, Feb 2020. (See Alt text if you can't guess which one he is.)
Meanwhile, here's a screenshot that also provides a little context. Not properly detailed Alt text
Goliath outside in his fancy chariot for our first outdoor hang! Hoping we will have many more. He HATES being picked up, but he likes his carrier. It was a good investment to get the stroller set-up. There is no good way for him to see birds 🪶 at the feeder from indoors. They come if I am quiet.
