I always have a pair of socks on the needles. It’s the perfect “on-the-go” project! I’ve tried several techniques, but have landed on two-at-time-cuff-down magic loop as my favorite. Here’s a pair I recently was working on. 🧶#PurlyGirlErin

It’s not hideous! I’ve found when I’m making these “word washcloths”, the words show up better if you use a needle sized down by one (or two) than you might normally use.

Two-at-time-cuff-down-magic-loop. Forever and always. I just tried something I saw here - making a bunch of tubes and then adding T/C/H later. Did not like. I also use this method for sleeves, mitts, leg warmers etc. #PurlyGirlErin #KnitSky #HandKnitSocks 🧶

I’ve held two strands of self-striping sock yarn together to make small (24” x 36”) blankets. I’m always pleasantly surprised with how the color combinations turn out. The last pic is double-knit with alternating wide stripes on each side. Not for the faint-of-heart, but def a lovely end product. 🧶

This is fabulous! I’m working on my first one, and decided to just use one skein(#MadelineTosh #Pashmina) to “get the lay of the land”. I’m already thinking about color changes/blocks for the next one. Thanks for the inspiration!

I completely understand this! Here’s some leggies I made so I could wear with flip flops (around the house). I strung some elastic ribbon through the ribbing at the top to help them stay up. Yarn is sadly discontinued, but a superwash merino. #KnitSky 🧶

Same! I’m trying out a new-to-me technique: knitting the tube and then adding toe, cuff and heel later. Not sure if I will like it, but I was intrigued enough to try. I have my tubes done, now to move on to the toes first, so I can accurately determine where the heels go. 🧶 #KnitSky #PurlyGirlErin

It looks like Log Cabin squares with just two colors per square. I’ve made a couple of blankets with this technique. Zoom in on the light pink to see the texture of the Log Cabin pattern.
