We won!!!! We won Arkham Horror, The Veil of Twilight scenario!! I think that might be the first time I've ever beaten that game. 4 players, 5th or 6th attempt at that scenario. #arkhamhorror

I turned some mushrooms from box elder, pretty pleased with them both. #woodturning #fungi #mushroom

A photo of a small, hand-turned mushroom. The edges of the wood are cracked and have stains on them from the bark because it was turned from a narrow branch. The wood is light in colour and shows a small amount of spalting (ironically, a fungal activity).

A much larger mushroom, turned from the same piece of box elder, but showing natural cavities and cracks. The wood is slightly darker, with very dark staining around the flaws.

Getting frustrated that my cross-grain work isn't improving (still too much tear-out which I fail to finish properly). So, going to work on spindle stuff for a little while. It tends to be faster, it's just as hard to get right, but at least I'll feel progress. It's a mushroom. #woodturning

A hand turned mushroom made from dark hardwood, possibly sapele, possibly African mahogany. The wood is fairly consistently chocolate brown, and is in the shape of a tall narrow mushroom with a flared base.

Damn, sometimes you feel like you're going backwards. It's almost like I was taunting the lathe to rip this too small tenon off. #woodturning #fail

Here's two shots of it before I reworked it. I glued the tenon back on the bottom (not to hold, but just to mark the centre). Cut a recess in the top, re-turned the outside and a new tenon, and then remounted it on the tenon to finish it.

A part turned elm bowl, the inside is not hollowed out. The outside is finished and has 5 rings (2 at the base, 3 at the rim) burned into it. This shot does not who the broken tenon.

Really enjoyed turning this little elm pot. Had to recover it after I'd finished the outside once, because the tenon broke off, if I can find those pics I'll post them in a reply. #woodturning

The bowl has two lines burned in near the rim, with lines vertically creating squares, and into each square I've drawn a random pattern (some geometric, some swirls, etc.) using the pyrography pen.

Managed to get a couple of hours in the shed and finished up the slightly wormy walnut, and the African mahogany with random pyrography. #woodturning

Finally got around to make a circle cutting jig for the bandsaw. The bandsaw squeals like crazy (I really need one more more power) but it works. Just took 18 months to get out of my own way and stop overthinking it. #woodturning #woodworking

Photograph shows the bed of a bandsaw. On the left is a circular piece of wood (a turning blank), with a small wooden dowel sticking out of the middle of it. On the right are two offcuts of wood, which are the square edge remains of the original square blank - so they have an inner curve matching the newly cut circular blank. They sit on an MDF board with holes every half inch, into which a dowel fits, allowing a square piece of wood to be rotated through the blade creating a circular blank.
