I just finished painting these guys. I don’t usually paint, but these have turned into fascinating artifacts:
I’m terrible at selling art. I enjoy the process of making art. Reaching out to people shouldn’t be torturous and hopeless. But, that’s what it feels like sometimes. Is the only solution just posting 10 times a day until people get tired of ignoring you? www.mikehalesart.com/shop/prints
Sitting in one spot, listening to music, and observing life go by is now my jam.
I’ve been working on some themed paintings. Almost done. Fixed part of the pilot’s brain mass, and added a few outlines. They’re almost done. #paintings
Hello. It’s been awhile. I’m visiting family in another state and came across some pictures of one of our cats from many years ago.
Observations from Monday, where I visited the Filmore District’s Alta Plaza Park in San Francisco.
I was stopped by this building for SF Animal Medical Center in the Filmore district going through some building upgrades. Are the wood slats useful for something, or just decorative? It’s fascinating.
My brother @igorlabsllc.bsky.social has been working on an interactive web app called Audio Effects Explained, with CAT! Also: handy sliders to manipulate audio waves to SEE and HEAR the sound changes as the song plays. It’s a work in progress. igorlabs.com/audio-cat #audiodesign
I’m beginning to realize that maybe I keep releasing music on Bandcamp just so I can have an excuse to create my own album cover art.
I had a beer at the airport because I needed to charge my phone for an hour. So I made this little advertisement.
Hey creative people: what’s one of your ideas thar totally changed the trajectory of your life for the better?
I’ve always wanted to illustrate book covers and advertisements, but in the past I’ve had hang ups about stylistic approaches. Lately I’ve just embraced a very sketchy style. My favorite brand to work with is Slack. I’m a big fan of Slack. #slack
Gavin Newsom’s a fascist, pass it on. Anyways, here’s an unrelated drawing I just finished.
If you’re an artist working a nonart job and have ADHD, what kind of things do you do to keep your head in the game, so to speak? For me, I draw in little sketchbooks:
For all the creative people out there, you should draw things. Do it now. If only to feel something! Don’t let the bastards get you down! #sketchbookart
I started a new sketchbook. Here’s some images from inside the book: #tikiart
Are we doing okay? What are we doing? I’m sketching on my off days, slowly trying to convince my brain that I can make art for a living.
