Oh yeah. It's summer. And that means tomatoes.
Caturday! The cat found a new hiding place. Even though she's 15 1/2 years old, she leapt up 4 feet to find the secret sweater and spare pillow shelf in my closet.
More in my chaotic manga. Two sailors meet two sirens. This is all blue ink on Canson paper. It took "forever" because I had to research American Sign Language (ASL), Florida tourist attractions, Navy uniforms... well you get the idea.
What if nice, normal, well-adjusted people had super powers? We need Bernie "Bud" Kepler. He knows how to make things grow.
The weather's been weird. My fruit trees are a week or two early and this ceanothus decided it's January and is blooming up a storm. #CaliforniaNativePlants
Falling's OK. I got tired of landing. Part of the "What would normal well adjusted people do if they had super powers" series.
The latest in my comix series. A woman who can see through anything (pretty much). Not x-ray vision, per se, but the ability to take a deep look at things.
What if nice, normal, well adjusted people had superpowers instead of vigilantes, supervillains, and people who engage in planetary destruction? My nascent slice of super life for your average working super person. One power per person, no demigods. as you will see.
My cacti are saying, "Look at me! I'm so PRETTY!" I love me a spring time cactus bloom. Oh yes, and I did make the glass objects in the potting soil. I don't have to worry about losing my marbles because I know how to make more.
It has started, as have the mistakes and chemistry experiments. Both the Sailor ink and the India ink are very water soluble, so I got White Out, correction tape, and Sharpies. I put in an order for archival waterproof ink with JetPens. In the interim, I correct and do the pencil work.
Caturday! I bring you Patience in a box. Went to play boardgames with friends, play with their new cat and kitten and pay homage to the elegant Cat With Seniority, who graced us with her presence and occupied the box the game came in.
My friends adopted two new cats. One is a momcat, who was calmly sitting behind me and the other is her son, who was sitting in front of me, all curious.
Reason 1 million why Oakland is awesome. A musician gave a talk on Arabic music to a diverse room of people, including a gentleman wearing a kippah made with a fabric that has musical instruments printed on it. Music unites us. Being in Oakland unites us. This was at the library. Also awesome.
Most of the time, it looks like a space alien made of spite and slappy green paddles, but in the spring, a cactus says, "I'm SO PRETTY!!!"
Hah. I like to play a word puzzle called "quotefall" and today's quoted author is @cstross.bsky.social
I love to sit on the sofa with my laptop, but that gives me a stiff neck, so I put my desk in front of a window and use the lappie at the desk. The cat has decided I need to sit there all the time and just bit my ankle because I'm using the lappie at the kitchen table this morning. #Caturday.
I feel REALLY chuffed. One of my #Sarracenas bloomed. #CarnivorousPlants
Show me the #Monet! #DeYoungMuseum Bonus is the museum chow was reallly good. When I was a kid, we didn't have money for museum chow, so I am spending my golden years viewing art after eating a big museum chow lunch. (It was really good.)
