In the middle of a project (always)... Sun Devil alumna, former HS teacher, current small business owner, mom to Thing 1 and Thing 2, wrangler of Penny #ExPostie
Ya'll!!! We have a situation with THAT neighbor. Everything was quiet then two police cars came rolling up with lights and sirens. Now, there's EMS. They took someone--him, guest her, guest him? They're searching his car. This is a lot of excitement for a lazy Sunday.
Penny's just doing Penny things. She's struggling a little to get around on her gimpy back legs, but still seems to be happy. I'm glad she's slowed down on the shenanigans because I wasn't sure how much more worry I could take.
Miss Penny had her first laser treatment. I can't believe she put up with the goggles, but she sure is cute in them.
Oh, it's getting real. Thing 2 graduates FROM UNIVERSITY (I think I've just turned to dust) on May 15th. What?!!
Hoppy Easter (to those that celebrate) from the Sour Patch kid (first she's sour, then she's sweet).
Happy 12th Birthday, Penelope Pumpernickel!! Life is never dull with you around, and I wouldn't have it any other way. She got her stitches out today and made her next 'pool' appointment for the end of next week (provided she makes good life choices).
Mischief managed--tied tee shirt for the win!! I admit I stood in the driveway and took a deep breath before opening the door to see what kind of hijinks Penny got up to today. She did lick her knee, but all things considered...
Penny update: Took the tee shirt off to check the incision, looks great but it's about 6 inches long 😳. Put one of her new outfits on and I'm hoping it stretches out in the length/body a bit. She looks a little like a convict or a pink furry bumble bee.
Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. She's home. Although I don't think she knows where she is. Everything went well.
It's official. I have entered my "old" phase. I now own sunglasses that fit over my regular glasses and I think they're cool.
I think we should lobby for smell-o-vision. Behold the annual Cabernet Blueberry Cranberry sauce. Prep is going slowly this year as I've caught some kind of ick (first time in 5-6 years). I'm not a fan of feeling icky, but I've enjoyed being able to binge 'Poirot'.
A comedy with a mystery. The whole series is laugh outloud, character driven, very unserious fun. Start with "One for the Money" and go from there. I'm behind in the series and I had forgotten how great these stories are for escaping whatever is bothering you for a bit.
A quick 24 hour turn around on traveling to the cabin to shut it down before the storms roll in with rain and possible snow. Poor Penny had to stay home with my SIL since she can't navigate the stairs and rocky terrain anymore.
I made a double batch of chili and have A LOT leftover. Future self is going to thank former self for the frozen assist when I have a chili hankering down the timeline. I also have bunches of cilantro. Creative ideas for that?
Verdict? Meh...It's the first book of a new fantasy world/character by an established author. I get that she's world building which makes the plot slower, but it was both repetitive & holey. She also hasn't written another in 4 years. Borrow it, if you're interested.
Seen coming out of work tonight, in case you need to breathe and look at something pretty for a second. #ArizonaClouds
Made it home from my walk just in the nick of time. The skies just opened and dumped some more rain. Took some pretty cloud pictures, just because I love them. It seems between #Priscilla and #Raymond, we got 3.66 inches here. Woot woot!
When I went to bed last night the rain gauge said 1.01 inches. This is the rain gauge this morning on this actively soggy Sunday. It's still coming down pretty steady. #Priscilla #Raymond
Good morning on this fine overcast drippy day. So far Priscilla has been a nice house guest. Not too much wind, very little thunder or lightning and gentle waves of rain. I am thrilled to be "stuck" inside today. The doors are open and Penny is watching "TV".
Uh oh. THAT neighbor is winding up to go off the rails. Sigh... In different news, we had so much rain that we grew shroomie guys in the desert. We have 4 more days of rain slated for the end of the week (Yay!!!)
This was delightful, especially if you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes. Thanks for the recommendation @goodport.bsky.social
