My office was sent this video of masked ICE agents grabbing someone off the street on 2nd St between Erie St. & Jersey Ave. in Ward E. We have also been made aware of additional ICE sightings and abductions in Jersey City today, and have alerted Public Safety. ICE may be targeting delivery cyclists.
Happy Pride, Jersey City! 🌈 Yes, we celebrate in August. Yes, we also celebrated in June. Photos from this year’s Hudson Pride Center LGBTQ+ Prom! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ @hudsonpridecenter.bsky.social
Life doesn’t only happen during rush hour. Earlier this week, I joined @HudCoStreets.org to canvass for A Better Light Rail because reliable transit matters at every hour of the day.
Join us for a Ward E Budget Town Hall! Over the past week, we've spent hours reviewing the proposed municipal budget, questioning department spending, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs while protecting essential city services.
I’m joining @HudCoStreets this Wednesday to canvass for A Better Light Rail! They’re calling for more frequent service, with trains running every 10 minutes, and for extensions to Bayfront AND Bergen County, so the Hudson Bergen Light Rail can finally live up to its name.
Stay cool, Jersey City! ☀️ Swipe for a list of cooling centers and splash pads in Ward E.
Erie at 10th St and the immediate surrounding streets will be closed to vehicular traffic while JCMUA works to address this issue. Please try to avoid this area while repairs are being completed as heavy traffic and delays are expected. @jerseycitynj.bsky.social
The Rent Protection Special Investigation Committee invites you to provide public testimony at our next meeting! This provides residents a chance to speak to us about their concerns regarding unlawful rent, landlord harassment, city response, and other housing violations.
I had a great time this month hosting bingos at our senior buildings downtown! Thank you so much to Shop Rite for donating gift cards for our seniors!
Happy 250th birthday to the United States of America! May our people never stop dreaming of, and working towards, a more perfect union. ❤️

I have been listening to all of your concerns about the proposed third-quarter tax increase. With the vote on the proposed tax estimate pushed back to July 1, I wanted to use the extra time to hold a Ward E community meeting to give folks another chance to speak to me directly in-person. (1/2)
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads! This is my dad, who passed his love of cycling, running, and public parks on to both his daughters, as well as his curiosity and desire to never stop learning. Thank you Dad! 💙
Happy Freedom Day! On this day in 1865, enslaved Black Americans in Texas finally learned of their emancipation—2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation and more than 2 months after the end of the Civil War.

Last Sunday was one of my favorite days of the year—the @bikejc.org Ward Tour! I rode with my dad and my sister (her first Jersey City Ward Tour!), and thousands of friends new and old. Thank you to the volunteers who worked so hard to make this day a success!
⚠️ Traffic Advisory As Jersey City kicks off its World Cup celebrations, the Flag Cities activation is taking place on Friday, June 12, bringing road closures, and no parking advisories in the surrounding area. Swipe for more information!

After a special education parent was arrested at Thursday’s Board of Education meeting, I’ve had many residents ask what the council is doing about it. I’m sharing this exchange in the spirit of full transparency:
Today we honor U.S. service members who made the ultimate sacrifice. In Jersey City, we marked the day with a moving ceremony at the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery. And on Friday, we raised the POW/MIA flag with the American flag over City Hall in an early observance of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
Today we celebrated the Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo organized by Catholic Action of Mary at St. Mary’s Parish! 🇵🇭 I was proud to present a City Council Resolution honoring this beautiful tradition & the people who have carried it on for 48 years—making it the oldest Santacruzan on the East Coast!
Join our office and the Department of Health and Human Services for a FREE Mental Health First Aid training to learn how to recognize signs of mental health challenges, respond in crisis situations, and connect people to support and resources.
Today, we’re proud to announce a new initiative in partnership with Jersey City Animal Care and Control and the City Administration to support renters, help shelter animals find loving homes, and reduce barriers to pet adoption in Jersey City. 🐾
