Caught up on the summer showcases and added ~60 games to my wishlist in a week (not counting the ones already on my radar). The industry is in a tough place, but seeing this much creativity gives me hope for the future. I hope these games find success and their creators get to keep making more!
Okay, so First Light came out a little too late for my birthday. But Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on February 12, so I may have casually made sure my partner knows it's perfectly timed for Lara Croft's birthday AND Valentine's Day. 😉

It was nice to watch a Summer Game Fest showcase that wasn't dominated by expansions and expected updates. There were genuine surprises, alongside some long-overdue updates to beloved franchises. Didn't see Guild Wars 3 coming. What stood out to you most from this year's SGF?

I almost never think about it, but launching a session of Garry’s Mod with friends is still great.
I love seeing indie games succeed through organic marketing. But saying a game had “$0 marketing budget” while a marketing specialist worked on it feels misleading. No paid promotion ≠ no marketing It also downplays the work of the people who helped make the game visible. Organic ≠ effortless
