I know it helped that I was already into this book but I kind of loved the way this author broke up what otherwise would have felt like a too long monologue from one character. (It started on the page before.)

Better late than never edition - these are my book purchases from our UK trip. Other than a hat I bought at Wimbledon, this is the entirety of the souvenirs I brought home. Look st that gorgeous cover of The Bluest Eye that I got for under £3!
Happy news! It’s Sunday and instead of just remembering I have to read a book for book group on Tuesday, I’m already almost done!
A work meeting at a coffee shop turned slightly less productive but more fuzzy and soft earlier today
Back in town and back to my regularly scheduled remembering that today is Sunday and I have to start this book for book group on Tuesday. 🙄 (I’m actually super excited to read it, I just have to hope it’s a quick one.)
We leave tomorrow for a big two week trip and so far all I’ve picked out to bring are the books. Time to pack!
