Shocking & horrible & soul crushing. Seattle festivals have always felt so safe & welcoming. The Times article linked in OP ends with this list. ⬇️ I’ve lived in Seattle since 1990 & I barely remember hearing about one of these, don’t remember hearing about the others.

Interesting insight: The Tate brothers’ unforgivable sin, in Trump’s eyes, was criticizing his war with Iran.

Never heard of Code Purple before. Means Air Quality Index is over 200, unsafe for everyone. 😱 DC Mayor website attributes poor air quality to wildfires in Canada, but someone else posted an image showing air quality across the region & only DC was purple. mayor.dc.gov/release/air-...

Looks like his belly may be bloated (note angle of tie & strain of suit + button around middle), and his ankles are pretty thick again

Source: the unverified @ IR Iran Military account (without spaces) on X. The tweet is real, but I can’t say whether the account is really run by the Iranian Military. I doubt it, but these Epstein-related jabs at Trump are the only funny aspect of this war & I hope this account keeps delivering.

Elections are run by the states and voting rules can vary considerably. In Wash. State, as of a few years ago, voters no longer identify any party preference, and candidates in partisan elections get to self-identify a party! But Texas looks particularly bizarre. www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/la...

Item 9 from the Texas Secretary of State election info website (linked in my reply here), which says (weird symbols pretty much as in original): “9. I voted in the primary election on March 3, 2020.Â Why did they ask if I wanted a Republican or Democratic ballot?

Â The primary elections are two separate elections that occur on the same day. The elections are the method for both the Republican and Democratic parties to select their nominees for the general election in November. When a voter votes in a primary election or primary runoff election, they are affiliating with the party whose primary they are voting in. (Â§162.003). A voter who is affiliated with a political party is ineligible to become affiliated with another party during the same voting year. (Â§162.012). This means a voter cannot vote in both primary elections, or the primary election of one party and the runoff election of another party. Some counties will have joint primaries and/or the parties will share polling places. In a county where the Republican and Democratic parties are sharing polling places, the voter must identify the primary in which they would like to vote, in order to ensure they receive the correct ballot and are marked as voting in the correct primary election.”

Article II Section 3: POTUS shall “give information” on SOTU to Congress “from time to time.” It doesn’t require Congress to attend an annual speech that’s basically an open mike for his lies and abuse. Article II Section 3 also requires POTUS to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” 🤷🏻

Text from the Constitution that says: “Article II Executive Branch

Section 3 Duties
