Working on my author bio. All factually correct information btw
Time for my quasi-annual rewatch 😎 I know many think that the film is one of PTA's lesser works and the book just Pynchon lite - but hey, the vibes are impeccable, so I couldn't care less.
Checking in 7 months later: cut another side quest, got a bunch of dialogue voiced and am about to conclude the editing process for the final side quests' script. Level design is shaping up to become the biggest overall roadblock, so will make it a point to set more time aside for it.
Ladies, gents and everyone outside & in-between, our darkly comical science fiction novella 'Venus Fly Trap' is now available for purchase for the low price of 4.99$! Get it while it's hot! #selfpublishing #writingcommunity #booksky #writerscommunity #books #novella #scifi books2read.com/u/bOVz8Q
Pleased to announce that 'Venus Fly Trap', a science fiction novella I wrote together with @cwgoode.bsky.social will release on June 17th! To help you get a feel for the quality of the prose, here's one of the book's more dramatic moments, a short nightmare sequence ⬇️
One old-timey set dressing technique that I will never grow tired of is to build inaccessible miniature exteriors outside of a level's playable area that can be viewed through the windows or similar openings. It always looks a bit fake, but hey, that's half the charm! #leveldesign #modding #fallout
A little level design experiment: stacking the nearly unused arcade assets along the exterior of those boring-ass outer Vegas concrete blocks to make them look remotely suitable for human habitation. Seems almost like they were meant to be used this way
Just wrapped up me and @cwgoode.bsky.social's #novella "Venus Fly Trap", a satirical sci-fi story ridiculing a certain tech mogul (picture unrelated)! Now we only need to figure out how to get it published, which... should be easy, right? #WritingCommunity #writing #author
Welp, those 500+ raw voice lines on my OneDrive aren't gonna cut and normalize themselves
Since 'Westside Story' is beginning to resemble something playable, perhaps even something WORTH playing now, I intend to ramp up a bit of an ad campaign in the form of occasional YouTube dev logs. For this purpose I'd like to ask: what are some things that *YOU* would like to learn about the mod?
Already did so after taking that first shot^^ I tend to add environmental effects last because they tend to get in the way during navmeshing and decal/debris placement
Started using every available minute of free time to crunch on my quest mod right after getting out of the latest exam period & suddenly caught a nasty cold - could my body be trying to tell me something? No, it's the change of the seasons that's at fault. Anyhow, here's a glimpse of a WIP level
They told me pursuing a history + literature degree would be a bad career move, but how else would I be able to put obscure references into a mod for a 16 year old video game that I am going to make 20 US dollars off of, huh? They don't teach you that in business school 😎
Ladies and gentlemen, the first casting call for my Fallout: New Vegas quest mod is live, featuring a wide array of roles waiting to be filled! www.castingcall.club/projects/wes... #vo #va #voiceover #voiceacting #fallout #indiedev #modding #gamewriting #falloutnewvegas #gamedev
A sneak peak at some of the hundreds of lines I implemented today! This quest in particular will feature a plethora of colorful, loquacious characters and more literary references than I bothered to keep count of. #gamewriting #falloutnewvegas #gamedev #indiedev #modding
Decided to rewatch the 2011 hit film Drive and the BluRay gave up the ghost right as the 'Under Your Spell' scene started
Checking in half a year later: another side quest folded into a MQ, some overly optimistic estimates retracted, some goalposts (such as the 50% completion mark) surpassed. Looking likely I'll complete another 2-3 quests before January. All goes well, 2026 will be the year 🤞
Today's project: implementing a metric shit ton's worth of side quest dialogue for these two particularly loquacious characters #gamewriting #falloutnewvegas #gamedev #indiedev #modding
I see the Pathologic 2 devs took some inspiration from my Fallout 4 settlements' rich style of architecture
