Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Please check with your local government or call 211 for cooling centers or explore other options such as libraries or shopping centers. Don't leave your kids and pets in the car.

A reminder that when you hear thunder, head inside. The safest place to be during a thunderstorm is indoors and away from windows. You want four walls surrounding you; no open garages, porches, covered decks or picnic shelters. Next best place to be is in a hard-topped vehicle with windows rolled up

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. Prepare for a wildfire by maintaining your lawn and removing combustible debris from around your home Make sure you understand evacuation levels. Find details at mil.wa.gov/wildfire #wawildfire

People are still flying drones near World Cup events. That’s why we keep sharing this. World Cup venues and fan festivals are No Drone Zones. Violators will be prosecuted and penalties are severe. If you see a drone breaking the rules, report it to 911, on-site law enforcement or 1-800-CALL-FBI.

A reminder that drones are not allowed around the World Cup stadium in Seattle. This has been said a few times. But, still, our police colleagues say five drones were seized from operators who violated flight restrictions around Seattle Stadium during a World Cup match on Monday.

Increased heat and temperatures means increased fire risk. We’ve already seen fire mobilizations in Walla Walla and Whitman County. (That means all hands on deck to help a local fire district out). Please do your part to reduce the risk of sparks and call 911 if you see a wildfire start #wawildfire

@governorferguson.bsky.social has signed a proclamation for Search and Rescue Recognition Week. There are dozens of rescue teams in our state. They are mostly unpaid professionals who contribute their time, skills, equipment and energy to help those in need. And we appreciate them so much.
