ran into the post office two minutes before closing yesterday and managed to get a certified letter out same day. completely unprompted, the guy behind the desk was like “and that’s the slip of paper you’ll need to show the court as proof you mailed it” 😳
sigh. Why am I seeing these men’s profiles despite my settings being “woman looking for women”? Are they setting their own gender to woman? Ofc the dogs are both pit bulls
I was quietly fired (no longer offered new assignments) some time ago from this particular tutoring company in cali and I still am receiving their email updates, some of which are wild
every day I wake up and check the freelance job boards and occasionally I discover a gem
thank you, third culture kid. This comment you made to me on a subreddit dedicated to abuse and neglect survivors was very kind and certainly well thought out
(Headline below; gift link above.) I’m left wondering what the “racket” in question is supposed to consist of. She mentions ADHD and celiac as cases of “minor” disabilities for which Stanford students receive accommodations. Neither one of those things is minor.
me, with very smelly underarms: I wonder when that deodorant I ordered will arrive the package tracker:
I feel like I’m on the verge of losing my mind. google recommended to me this paper written by a physics guy who decided to dabble in game theory during a sabbatical & now claims to have “discovered” that cooperation can evolve in a PD if players can recognize each other, something known for decades
the “speak out” act covers only particular workplace violations that occurred after the nda was signed
from my yard. Still kinda in disbelief that I get to live in a place like this
at least people on this dating app tell me exactly what they’re looking for so that I don’t waste my time
this is the level of petty mastermind that I consistently aspire to be
not directly QT’ing because I don’t want to kick a hornet’s nest but imo these are very basic standards for a randomized controlled trial (the key word here being *controlled*) and we need to stop pretending that any restrictions of any kind put on research are always inherently political
this!! except sometimes they are not careful and they do accidentally like things before snatching back the like 😂
a round of applause for C. Garbin photography. In the end the man knew how to work with my subtleties
this is genuinely insane. Imagine being told you’re not allowed to prep your courses from your home office and being required to *clock in and out* as a salaried employee
ahh yes, the unicorn for which each of these men is perpetually searching: a woman who can make enough money to at least partially support his lifestyle, but with none of the personality traits required for her to make that money in the first place
me doing a PhD in one of the hardest subjects possible with multiple disabilities, chronic diseases, and committed haters praying for my demise, and without close family, a partner, savings, or a trust fund:
I also think the skeptical looks aren’t necessarily undeserved and maybe it would actually be a good thing for us as a discipline to bring back shame
definitely the parts of my personality I want to showcase for potential suitors
