I've cried a lot of happy tears in the past 24 hours. This is my first collection, and I'm thrilled to be working w/ @mczyzniejewski.bsky.social & @mooncitypress.bsky.social to bring it alive. I'm so so grateful to this whole flash community. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity! ❤️
I loved this! After the first chapter, I forgot I knew the author...& forgot I needed to do laundry & prep for school & take the dog out. The characters are real & flawed & relatable. @ericscottryon.bsky.social's writing made me laugh & cry. A beautiful story re: friendship, grief & forgiveness.
Based on seeing these banners in my feed from some of my favorite writers, this is going to be an incredible collection! Thanks to @francinewitte.bsky.social at Flash Boulevard for nominating "Seventeen" and to @megpokrass.bsky.social, Gary Fincke, and Diane Seuss for selecting it!
No longlist for me this time, but loved listening to the episode and am rooting for some of my faves! Thanks @notquitewrite.com for your humor and creativity—and I’ll be back in July! Maybe team @akscotland.bsky.social next time…mix it up a bit!
So excited to get my copy of Moon City Review—it’s incredible! I can’t wait to read everything. @mooncityreview.bsky.social
This one is a little longer than my usual flash, but if you have a few minutes this morning, I'd love for you to give it a read. It's got just enough truth in it to make my husband nervous... Thanks to Lascaux Review for finding it funny! lascauxreview.com/vigilant-wes/
Thanks to my @smokelong.bsky.social MMM Group 4 for help on this one, particularly for the encouragement by @lmbayley.bsky.social! Here's a story about a chicken and the apocalypse and the Scrubs remake... "Eunice Bobs Her Head": gooseberry-pie.com/eunice-bobs-...
I just came home from a hard weekend and Chet and Jack and my cozy home reminded me that the little things are important. And that feels like good news. Sending love from VT. 🩷
Thank you to @gonelawn.bsky.social for sharing my story about a girls' camp and a sinkhole: "One, Nothing Goes in the Hole, and Two, No One Goes in the Hole." Sink holes are a bit of a fear of mine... gonelawn.net/journal/issu...
Check out “One, Nothing Goes in the Hole, and Two, No One Goes in the Hole” in the amazing Worm Moon issue of @gonelawn.bsky.social today! This one started in @notquitewrite.com last year gonelawn.net/journal/issu...
It was an honor to have "DMC" chosen as a finalist for the @fracturedlit.bsky.social Flash Fiction Open, particularly to know it was read by the incredible @gwenekirby.bsky.social! And thanks, of course, to @smokelong.bsky.social where the story began last summer. fracturedlit.com/dead-mother-...
Look what just arrived! Can’t wait to dive in, @patriciaqbidar.bsky.social

Chet gave us quite the scare yesterday. 6 hours at the emergency vet for a puncture in his throat…a lovely fall walk went sideways fast. He’s okay now, but, wow. Feeling grateful. The emergency vet is a rough place & the night didn’t end well for all families there. Hug your babies tonight!
My story “The Interview,” originally published in the amazing @variantlit.bsky.social, was a finalist for the Lascaux Prize this year. Thrilled to share it again! lascauxreview.com/the-interview/
Took a week off from writing for my annual Quilt Camp—turns out I can only do one creative pursuit at a time now. Back to writing tomorrow (I’ve missed it!).
Look what arrived today! And it's a rainy day, perfect for reading. @kazbarwrites.bsky.social
Thanks to @bathflashaward.bsky.social for making this dream happen! Congratulations to all the amazing stories and authors, and to the journals that believed in our words.
Looking for a way to fight existential dread & other such abstract fears? Check out my @fracturedlit.bsky.social story "Sixty, Fifty-Nine, Fifty-Eight." Can't guarantee it will work better than my current gin & tonics, cake & dog cuddles strategy, but worth a try... fracturedlit.com/sixty-fifty-...
Lovely morning reading the amazing @avitusbcarle.bsky.social and then I made the mistake of giving up my seat for a moment. I’ll let you know what Chet thinks of the stories!
I made my own mini hostess cakes, so everything is going to be fine now.
