If the shelves of reduced Best Dad merch after Fathers Day weren't depressing enough...
Hattie Jacques was bloody beautiful. So was Mama Cass. Fuck the dominant paradigm
Trying to tempt daughter to complete 2 final essays for her second year History course (long story) with promise of taking her to see The Odessey. I did Classical Civilization A level so have complicated feelings about it (but much preferred it to The Iliad, frankly)
Sign in the Hardman House Liverpool - 1950s photographic studio
Workers at the Jacobs biscuit factory, Liverpool, by Edward Chambré & Margaret Hardman
I'm in the very nice Village General Store cafe in Saltaire having a coffee & there are two Very Good Dogs by the bench outside - I can just see a golden & a black waggy tail
Fuck the death of the vile homophobic fascist. Hurrah for the legacy of lovely Bonnie
Bought a Fat Tyke from the bakers because of the name obvs. Bit dry tbh!
Dolly was incarcerated in the Moor psychiatric hospital, Lancaster, after having an illegitimate child in her early teens (after being raped, obvs). She was never released & died 18 months after Ian Beesley took this extraordinary photo. Heartbreaking beyond belief.
So enjoyed the huge numbers of David Hockney images at Salt Mill today. What an incredible career.
We're staying in Saltaire! It's lovely. Weird alpaca connection making me laugh
"Dear Patriarchy..." Part of the fantastic Hold onto this Earth, indigenous North American artists exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Very nice day in Yorkshire - this was RHS Bridgewater. Later visited Hebden Bridge. Now in Saltaire where model village founder Titus Salt forbid drinking alcohol or putting your washing out. The twat.
The amazing healing powers of dogs. My dad, John, in the last few months of his life, with my friend's dog Digby.
