The rain did not dampen sprits or attendance at this morning’s #NewtonMA #MemorialDay wreath laying at the Newton Cemetery. We owe a debt that can never be repaid to all who have sacrificed so that we can enjoy the benefits of a free and democratic society. 🇺🇸 🌺
Excellent LTE in today’s Globe - clean energy, demand response, energy efficiency should all be prioritized over fossil fuel infrastructure but investor owned utilities make more money doubling down on fossil fuels 💀💰
Herring trying and failing to traverse the Watertown Dam to spawn. This is one is the many reasons we advocate for removal of this and all outdated, defunct dams on the Charles. #CharlesRiver #FreeTheRiver #DamRemoval
The herring are running! This is the fish ladder at the Watertown Dam, where over 11K herring have come thru since mid April. (Sadly many don’t find the ladder, and species such as American shad can’t use it at all. That’s why we advocate for removing this defunct dam.) #CharlesRiver 🐟🌎🌊
90+ degree days coming to Boston in MID-MAY. This is NOT NORMAL. Or at least… it didn’t used to be. #ClimateChangeIsReal #ClimateChange
Fantastic Herring Festival yesterday in Watertown with hundreds of attendees! Excited to see support for dam removal continue to grow. Now just need @massdcr.bsky.social to act. 🌎🌊🐟
Loved attending my first @climaterealityproject.org training at the Newton library yesterday! It was inspiring to be with a group of ppl committed enough to preserving the livability of our planet to spend 3 hours on a beautiful Saturday indoors 🌎🌳

Happy Earth Day! Let’s commemorate by ending the practice of dumping 💩 into the Charles River. Visit CutTheCrapCharles.org
Tomorrow I will be cheering on the four Boston Marathon charity runners for Charles River Watershed Association and a cleaner Charles River! 🌍 🌊 🐟 Thank you Riley Cooper, Haydn Herrema, Jon Madorsky, and Chris Towle! 🏃➡️ 🏃♀️➡️ 🏅 (Here they are in front of a sign warning of sewage discharges 🤢)
Happy International Beaver Day to all who celebrate! And all *should* celebrate, bc these are not just funny little animals, they are ecological powerhouses, boosting water quality, biodiversity, and climate resilience. 🦫 www.beaversww.org/internationa...
Thank you www.massowsa.org for inviting me to speak at their Spring Social today! They swim in Boston Harbor, but I got a lot of hands when I asked "who would like to be able to swim in the Charles River?" We can do this! Visit CutTheCrapCharles.org to make your voice heard for a 💩-free Charles
