❤️ Science; physics, biology, philosophy and cooking. Retired ped ICU acute pulmonary disease research. Now small farm n B&B owner. I am a quantum of humanity, a momentary byproduct of physics. A quark guy, full of charm from top to bottom.
Bright n clean almost fresh feeling. A rather apocalyptic feeling here from the smoky haze over our farm this morning.
Life is good. It’s hay time, always during hot weather. Got my first cut of round bales. 600 small square bales later this week. As long as no rain 🤞
Good Monday Laura. I and others around our farm are still awaiting the good news.
Maybe the mystery to consider is a dystopian possibility that was predicted in 1973 (Prediction off by just 4 years).
They are. They’re gentle giants. Eve has had 5 of her own since. Here is Eve last summer on the right with Chione, 6 months and Xanthe, 1 1/2 years old.
Eve with here mom Connee. Eve is 5 days old January 2014. They are Belgian draft horses.
Sunday night, pizza night. 🍕 Started the dough at 5am,... farm life, chores to do. Our fresh sweet Italian sausage, mushroom, tomatoes, margarita peperoni (cheaper stuff, ran out of good sticks to slice).
Enchiladas for dinner tonight. Beef with my homemade sauce (my own mix of Penzeys spices).
Khachapuri 😋 First time I've tried making this traditional Georgian cheese-filled bread. Turned out delicious. Not having khachapuri cheese, I substituted with goat cheese and feta.
The babies are here 🐣🐣 🐥🐥 😃 They just arrive via overnight post. Each year we hatch out 30 of our own chicks but about every 5 years or so we’ll buy new born, day old chicks. Beautiful simplicity in its complexity 🤔
My French toast for breakfast today. 😋 😃 Made with homemade challah bread and fresh breakfast sausage. Egg custard for soaking has apple pie spices, vanilla and orange zest.
Our post protest dinner 😋Chicken saltimbocca My twist; our thick cut smoked bacon, kale and pecorino romano cheese. Served with mushrooms on rice.
Pizza night. 😃 Nothing fancy, just cheese and pepperoni with homemade dough. Yum 😋
Dinner tonight on the farm: My twist on a traditional Ukrainian pancake (crepes), Nalysnyky. Filled with our pork sausage n scrambled eggs. Served with our farmers cheese, sour cream n dill.
Beautiful. Peaceful looking. Here’s an aerial view of our barn n our home.
God. It’s actually a quiet time of year. Finally had a warm up last week, above freezing for a bit. So, much melting n snow shedding off barn (a good thing). Hopefully we’ve turned the winter corner.
