The Making Memories B4 I Die of Cancer Tour made its latest iteration with a New England Sampler. Flew into Boston, did a DownEast Maine coastal tour, Acadia NP, tooled across NH and picked up VT 100 scenic byway in Stowe. Completed with a visit to Saratoga Nat‘l Historic Park.
On August 10, 1944, SSG Wilfred Pearson of the 47th Armored Infantry Battalion, 5th Armored Division, died at Marolles, France killing Nazis of the 9th Panzer Division. He was my great uncle.
Day 4 was Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Get there early! Never count on catching the first shuttle.
Day three started at before morning nautical twilight for early start in Yosemite Valley. Easy parking at Visitor Center. First shuttle 0700. Insane by 10am.
Day 2 was the drive down US 395 from the Tahoe area and then tooling the only recently opened for the summer Tioga Road in Yosemite.
