Really pleased to come across these books in a charity shop yesterday, to add to my collection of works by illustrator Tony Meeuwissen
I finally got around to seeing the Burry Man, who parades through South Queensferry each August!
The figurative blood, sweat, and tears of this working week has become literal on all three fronts over the past 24 hours. Hoping to get the harder stuff finished this week, have a slightly less intense week next week, then 3 weeks holidays!
A collaborative piece with my nephew, inspired by his art homework last year on David Hockney
I’ve now been playing this, set in a tea shop on the journey to the afterlife, and I may write up the results as a short story!
In a similar vein to Robin’s poem, here is my Malapoetry that I wrote last week - all examples I have encountered in the wild, either spoken or written!
Another deep time poem. This one is about how warming messages for nuclear waste sites may be counterproductive
I’ve started (attempting) to write a few bits of poetry with a deep time theme, and this is partly in response to the planned AI centre in Auchtertool and the recycling centre fire in Ladybank. No shade intended on wind turbines btw, it was a contrast of ancient and modern!
Here are the prompts from the film club discussion of After Life, by the way
Was in a Søstrene Grene shop yesterday, and bumped into a young couple, and admired the collection of badges one was wearing, especially the F*** AI one. A few minutes later they came over saying “I have spares, and I think you should have one!” 🥰
My second time seeing 2:22 A Ghost Story yesterday, and it was interesting to spot little clues knowing the ending! @dannyrobins.bsky.social
I’ve been helping a bit with a fun project this week! Two artist friends of mine have been working with pupils from the school where I work, to decorate a local underpass, and I’ve been popping along to lend a hand at lunchtimes!
Me with Elma, my style icon! We’ve seen each other a bit in recent years as we both went to Rock Choir and ended up sitting next to each other by chance!
Had an amazing time watching #thehighlife this afternoon! I have been so incredibly excited about watching this show, and it was everything I hoped it would be!
I’m reading The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal, which I chose as our work book club book, and I’m enjoying the NASA coverage of the real thing alongside it!
