A lesser known name is in the fight to #EndPolio is Dr. Annie Jean Macnamara. In 1931, her experiments proved the existence of more than one strain of poliovirus, which was critical for the development of the polio vaccine. Learn more: https://endpol.io/4v92dvj

In Somalia, health teams stopped leading with the vaccine and began to lead by listening with social mobilizers who built trust. Then, the vaccination followed. Trust, it turned out, was the hardest and most important thing to deliver. #EndPolio
