SUMMER OPENING HOURS We are delighted to say our helpline will be remaining open over the summer holidays, operating Tuesday and Thursdays (9.30am - 4.30pm). As always, our website is an excellent source of advice and information whilst waiting for an advisor: enquire.org.uk

A series of cards as part of Enquire's FAQ Friday series asks a question and provides a short summary answer. Card one asks 'Does my child need a diagnosis to get support' features as the next in the series of Enquire's FAQ Friday series. The answer is given in three parts, displayed over the following three images. Card 1 of 4.

Answer, Part 1: In Scotland, children have the right to support whether they have a diagnosis or not. This includes if they on a waiting list for assessment or for reasons that are not medical. Card 2 of 4.

Answer, Part 2: Many children may need support for reasons that do not come with a diagnosis, for example if they are being bullied, caring for someone at home or if they have been bereaved. Card 3 of 4

Answer, Part 3: A formal diagnosis can be helpful for the school to better understand a child's need and plan support. However, a child has the right to receive help at school when it is realised they need it. Card 4 of 4.
