We're also hearing reports that similar practices are beginning at Newark and Federal Plaza. These hearings can involve 100 or more people at the same time, leading to hours-long lines to enter the courthouse, packed waiting rooms, all-day waits, and chaotic conditions.

In New York City (particularly at the Broadway Immigration Court) we've seen hearings with 130 or more people scheduled before the same judge at the same time, with multiple Mega Masters taking place on the same day, often on Thursdays.

Over the past month, Envision Freedom Fund has seen a growing trend of people whose Individual Hearings (IH) or Master Hearings (MH) are suddenly being rescheduled into "Mega Master" hearings.

Since last year, thousands of immigrants have been held in mandatory detention across the U.S. with no pathway out, a clear violation of due process. This ruling is a resounding "no" to the question of whether the gvmt can indefinitely imprison someone without justification.

As we head into the 4th of July weekend, we've paid bonds to free 9 of our neighbors from cages, leveraging $161,000 to bring them back home. One bond we paid (in collaboration with a partner and the family) was $50,000. While our neighbors remain detained, there is no celebrating freedom.

During a recent Envision Freedom Fund mental health support meeting, participants spoke about the emotional toll of living under constant surveillance. They described feeling watched, restricted, and unable to fully move forward even after leaving detention.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 vote to uphold birthright citizenship. This is a meaningful victory that reinforces something we already know: the U.S. is a country of immigrants (by choice, by violence, by forced hand, by the human desire for safety and opportunity).

There's a new shift in ICE release practices.  When A.J., whom Envision helped secure release from detention in May, rushed to the hospital for the birth of his child on the same day he was released, his ankle monitor created stressful delays at hospital security.

We had to deliver heartbreaking news to a family seeking help to bring their loved one home that the immigration bond order they received was fraudulent. We're sharing this fake bond order so community members can learn warning signs and protect themselves from similar scams.

Recent bond hearings show just how difficult release has become. In a recent hearing just last week, 27 people detained at #DelaneyHall appeared before an immigration judge seeking bond. Not a single person was granted release.
